Hey,
I've been in hospital for the past three days. Had bleeding on saturday afternoon and they kept me in overnight, then decided to keep me another night as well. I had to have corticosteriods (read the link below if you're interested, I found it pretty helpful!) on Sunday and earlier today to help baby's lungs mature - they basically couldnt find the cause of the bleed and were worried it would turn into pre-term labour (yeah, I would have been just under 33 weeks...not good!). The needle didnt hurt the first time, but man, the second midwife who administered the steoids did it just above my knee - right into the muscles I suspect, because (without me even having any knowledge it was going to happen), they just seized up around the needle when she stuck it in! Speak of pain, I couldn't walk after that, my leg was pretty numb and sore! All ok now, though :)
I *was* going to write a longer entry about it, but I just don't have the energy. You would think after having to be committed to bed-rest (to the extent that I was only allowed to walk around - to visit my friend in the room beside - from about 10am this morning!!) I would have all the time in the world to update, but I just feel so exhausted! Lol.
Good news is, baby is perfectly fine, as am I. They think it may have just been the cervix stretching a little and bleeding as it's pretty fragile tissue, but truth be told they might not ever know, either! I'm glad I'm home, and I'm glad baby is alright. There's so much I want to do around here, I have the silly nexting urges to clean, clean, clean - but the doctor's advised I give it a rest for at least a week, and not even walk my dog (poor Buddy :() or wash my car! Eeek!
Had another ultrasound. Not sure if you remember, but they couldn't find out the sex last time as baby wouldn't co-operate. Yep, it's as slack as it's daddy - too busy sleeping today to move as well! They shook my belly to try to get him/her to move their legs (only one was in the way, crossed over the front, right where we needed to peek, typical!), but it just didn't happen.
She said she's pretty certain she didn't see any boy bits down there, but not to take her word for it.
I'm considering now taking my own intuition - which has been girl all along, but I'm not following it completely, Just In Case!
Guess I'll still have to play the waiting game!!
