Just cancelled the faire for next week - errr coming week
Ugh, finally made the decision to cancel the Winters faire! Dragging my feet on this one! I really thought (until tonight) that I could actually pull it off but I should have known! 1st my mother before I even left on the cruise said "What are you crazy? You can't open when it hasn't even been finished yet (meaning the construction) and I stupidly said "Well, they said they'd be done by the time I get back!" Well of course, errr groan, she was right! I still have 2 walls not finished (needing, the sheet rock, painting and trim done, the trim around the windows done, the casing I just found out built around the windows and I have no idea when my sign is coming (but they did put the arch up for that on Friday!) I guess I figured it out when I brought the finished Winter brochure to Grove tonight for Starragan to critque and she just put it in her pocketbook and said, "I'll come over tomorrow to help you or redo it actually - HELLL that's a bad sign. I wasn't happy with the outcome anyway - they seemed to BLAH for me! Seemed like alot of information for a Tri-fold but nothing specific. Nice ordering form on it though that came out good. Well not gonna worry about it, because I cant open anyway till they tell me I can takwe down the construction permit and let customers in again. At least I learned from my mistake in November - I haven't paid the rent yet!
Other things, Grove was good tonight - had a Welcoming for newest tribe member (Dan) and a sorrowful Goodbye for Duirimund who's leaving for the Airforce. Bittersweet though, he really needs this change and I am very proud of his choice, he didnt have that many choices to begin with. I think it will make him grow up fast though, and he'll be changed when he/if he comes back.
Wry was at Grove tonight, it was very good to see him - it has been awhile! I still owe him a poem for my Filid bead, and he reminded me of that. Seems though I am not the only student who hasnt written anything in awhile. We even got talking about Triple Guild - ahhh that I miss!
Sadie & Andrew's Housewarming / Handfasting is next week. She has grown up to quite the lady as well. Shell and I went to see the house her Papa gave her tonight and even though it is small,they have a 1/2 acre (which is sweet!) it's a 2 bedroom house and they got to gut it and (BLUE ELF) She did the whole kitchen, Living Room and 1 Bedroom in IKEA!!!!! Everything is mostly in black & White and Rod Iron but very new & shiny! I was really surprised that the black bookcase and hugeass mirror they got while helping us clean out Macy's will fit well in with their decor.
We did decide Imbolc is Feb 4th, have to figure out if I am leading again or I'm thinking maybe Sadie should this time around. I did lead last year, although I do have some sacrifices for her this year in regarding to Hearth/Healing and some fire in the head.
