What is the importance of a tooth?
I've had this question for a couple of days now. The 5 year old lost his second tooth the other day and Jason can't find the first tooth and he was extremely bothered by this. I got to thinking about the fact that I don't have christopher's first tooth since he lost it when he didn't live with me and I have probably lost the second tooth as well and don't even ask me about all the others.
The teeth that were saved when I was a child are gone too. I once was bothered by it, not a whole lot but a little.
but what's more important? sharing in your child's joy that he is growing up or saving a tooth that will likely be lost later? Furthermore, where did this odd tradition come from anyway?
