Julius stared at the new piece of food placed in front of him. “What is that? It looks…disgusting.”
Octavian sat next to him and laughed. “It’s from the same area as the strawberries. Father brought it back with him. He said Brutus liked it very much.”
Julius was still suspicious. “I don’t know. What’s it called?”
“Chocolate. We’ve had it melted down. Brutus said it was divine with the strawberries.”
“You eat it first. I don’t want anything to harm the baby.”
Octavian smiled and dipped his finger in the chocolate. He licked his finger. “It’s good.”
Julius watched him. “Octavian,” he moaned.
“Would you like some Julius?”
Julius nodded. Octavian dipped his finger in again and held it out to Julius. Julius sucked on his finger. Octavian cleared his throat.
“Perhaps we ought to go to bed now,” he said.
“That is a fantastic idea,” replied Julius.
