Sofie the giraffe, the newest addition to Los Angeles Zoo, makes her public debut on Friday, two weeks after she was born. Already standing at six ft tall, Sofie weighs 61kg (135lb) and will be on show daily to visitors. The Masai giraffes' normal habitat is around southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, though their numbers are declining as they are poached for meat
