This is something has been happening recently. Somehow ever since 2004, the haze seem to be overcasting our sunny island set in the sea during period where there are the slash and burn season adopted by outr friendly neighbours. Which brings to mind how important fire drill is...or not.
Just the day before in the office, it was leaked that there will be a fire drill today "sometime between 3.15-4pm"... i looked at S and A and everyone within my visual range... and I swear I can see the bubble pop up in our heads like some spiderman comic..."we shd take the lift at 3pm"...
So today, everything started normal. Except the rain in the morning. =). I took the MRT to work and when I got to the office... everyone was working quietly by their desk. Then E stood up and called out "Danny"... and there was this signal... THREE FIFTEEN. OK?... I let out an affirmative nod.
So promptly at 3.15pm, we took the lift down... I went ahead to buy breakfast for tomorrow morning and stopped by my fave yogurt place... met E up and sat at a cafe... the clock just tick along.... meanwhile, Killiney, San Fran coffee...were ringing up their cash register like nobody's ever drank coffee... EVERYONE had the same idea.
After 45 mins... I caught glimpse of my colleagues trudging to the gathering area. I gamely joined. After all, this was one of the rare chances you try to see if there are any hot people within the building... my high hopes were met with disappointment... gosh... everyone looked the same... and I laughef at myself... who am I to think I am any different? LOL.
In any case, if the fire comes, it burns u alive, hot or not.
Which brings me to ask... is there a different taking the lift or walking flights of stes down for a fire drill...???
You tell me.
