Title: Reichenbach: A Love Story
Author: SimplyElymas
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Length: 57,754 words
Rating: T
Warnings: None
Verse: ACD Books
Author's summary: My edited NaNoWriMo 2006 novel. In Greek, there are three words for love, but John Watson does not know these words, and is afraid to learn them. Entails breaking of Leviticus, passages 18:22 and 20:13. In other words, slash.
Reccer's comments: This is an oldie, dredged up from the dusty pages of FFdotnet. Before going any further, I want to warn you not to read the reviews, or at least skip the latest ones. Some slash-hater clearly read all 57,000 words of the fic and loathed every. single. one. Just don't go there. I did and needed to wash my hands after.

This is a complex story, told through the familiar device of the author discovering a manuscript in Holmes's cottage in Sussex. Starting on the day before the confrontation at Reichenbach, it unfolds in alternate voices and jumps back and forth in time as well, but the narrative thread stays clear throughout. (It does help that each chapter is dated at the top). Despite the twists and turns, the focus stays constant: as the title says, this is a love story. Follow it through and it will come to a highly satisfactory conclusion.
