This story shows Anderson/Sherlock pairing as something indeed unexpected and a bit of a joke at first, but also something that actually works in the end as a form of friends-with-benefits (co-workers-with-benefits?).
The author handles this ship with full awareness of the fact that most Sherlock fans view it as crack, but gives it all the respect and consideration one would a popular and well established in fandom OTP. The story is funny, witty, well written and also - very hot.
