At times I think the prose in this is a bit purple. Honestly, if it hadn't been recommended at 221B I doubt I would have kept going.
But
BUT
The characterization of Mycroft in this fic is just to die for. Somehow the author found a way to mix canonical Mycroft, fic!powerful!Mycroft, and a big brother who just loves Sherlock into an amazing creature I want to read more of.
This story is worth reading for Mycroft alone.
And yes, there is a lot of medical jargon. I'm familiar with this vocab and was a little thrown by some of it. But still very accessible. It's usually used to set the scene, not to convey key plot points.
