I admit to being biased as the beta, but would like to second this rec. There were number of times when I would receive a new chapter, read it through and straight away email back "Whaaaat?" and then spend an agonising week or so waiting for the next instalment.

On the personal side, there isn't any romance, but there are epic friendships, including John and Sherlock, of course, but also John and Sally

And just for that I might give this a try... (bitchy!Sally gets tiring after a while, I admit I appreciate fics in which she is, you know, an actual human being.)

This fic didn't appeal to me much when I saw it on AO3 tbh, but I've seen people praising it, maybe I'll see how it is for myself.

I was excited to have a long fic to dl onto my kindle, yay!
I've read the first several chapters, and it is very well-written. The idea that today's Sherlock and John get to investigate the story of the Victorian Holmes and Watson is cool, especially with that very significant difference that Watson died in a Swiss prison, convicted of the crime.

Moriarty as Hypnotherapist is terrifying. o_O He seems sweet and even keeled, and that is JUST WHEN YOU SHOULD BE MOST SCARED OF HIM. I can't wait to see how he develops. The dreams and the hypnotherapy sessions are beautifully rendered so far.

Chiming in to say this was one of the best fics I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It's a rare treat to find something so well characterized/plotted, and to be honest, it ruined me for most other fics. I will forever be comparing them to this one.
