And just for that I might give this a try... (bitchy!Sally gets tiring after a while, I admit I appreciate fics in which she is, you know, an actual human being.)
This fic didn't appeal to me much when I saw it on AO3 tbh, but I've seen people praising it, maybe I'll see how it is for myself.

I've read the first several chapters, and it is very well-written. The idea that today's Sherlock and John get to investigate the story of the Victorian Holmes and Watson is cool, especially with that very significant difference that Watson died in a Swiss prison, convicted of the crime.
Moriarty as Hypnotherapist is terrifying. o_O He seems sweet and even keeled, and that is JUST WHEN YOU SHOULD BE MOST SCARED OF HIM. I can't wait to see how he develops. The dreams and the hypnotherapy sessions are beautifully rendered so far.
