Author's summary: Post-Reichenbach Fall. "And now that, once more, he does not have John Watson, the situation has arguably returned - after six hundred and two days of abnormality - to a resting state."
Reccer's comments: There have been many post-Reichenbach fics spinning around John's wait and Sherlock's return, but I have found rather fewer that focused entirely around Sherlock's own perspective of what comes after the fall. This is an incredible, thoughtful portrayal of Sherlock Holmes as deprived of John Watson, and of the ways he copes with this absence - the ways he comes to grips with his own newly-found caring streak, contrasted with his assessment of his own sexuality and his lack of previous emotional entanglements.
halotolerant's Sherlock is among the most convincing and the most interesting depictions I've seen in this fandom, and his relationship with John is a complex, funny little thing that I'd love to read more of. The writing style itself is excellent, and gets you into Sherlock's head in a thoroughly believable way.
