Ok some of these are new and some have a light dusting of delicious mold on them. But all are on my MP3 player right now.

I like this because its 80s perfection. The navel gazing lyrics are suitably teenangsty and she's super cute in a lovely pasty English way. She wrote me back when i wrote her a fan email and asked her to come play NYC and was really sweet. Also she looks like this girl Michelle i was friends with when i was 18 or 19. Michelle spoke french (in rooms where noone else was), ended up being a fruit fly geneticist or some such swot, made being an entitled bitch an art form, and was a superior lay. So, i like this chick and this song.

Saw these geezers open for Delphic. Very very goofy and fun. Their dj was also one of the most beautiful boys i've seen in yonks.
The Little Ones are so fucking good. I think i came across them originally because of the Crystal Castles remix. Loverly stuff. Farm Song is my favorite track off Morning Tide [2008]. Its like a 50/60s prom song that you slow danced too. But kinda psychedelic-like. I often hear it playing in the background of my head when i roll over in my sleep at 3 in the morning.
Raised by Swans of course made it in to my world via that [*eyeroll*] film, Chloe. At least something positive came out of that experience. Love em as i usually do bands of the Canadian experience. At their best, they have the urgency of Silversun Pickups but without the sinister lady-man vocals. New album for 2010 but i'm still enjoying the last one:

I love this song. It's a good driving at night song. "A warm hand...a short skirt...a soft blanket
And there was this song by some Scottish cats that gets me pumped for some reason. It's rather an epic sound.

Beautiful and melancholy but never snoresville.
I also like Parallels from again, CANADA. Back again to the 80s they've perfected a certain subgenre. Like, hot blond chick + Kate Bush + Berlin + Missing Persons + uh, Quarterflash - sax = Parallels
