back in the saddle
I am back in purgatory. I will be here for at least an other 4 months (exactly) My out look about this place has changed. I am not really sure if there is ONE thing that caused this, but actually numerous things. Intially, I think it is my outlook. I passed the first year of school... I am here to stay until I fail (which I don't think will be happening, if I have anything to say about it.) I am resigned to the fact that I am here and will be until I am done. I think what else has helped has been the change in the people that I am socializing with. I have made friends with other people and found them to be supported and pragmatic. For me though, it has been the changing of subject matter. I am not getting down to the vet stuff. I am past the foundation and starting on the bricks and mortor. I am in love with all of my classes, pathology, parasitology, pharmacology (yay drugs), and bacterology. I am find clinical skills to be a waste of my time, only because we are covering things that I have been doing for eons such as holding animals, fecal floats, drawing blood, placing catheters, and so on. The thing that is irratating me though is that the teacher is teaching these people wrong. If a student was to actually hold or pick-up animals as the teacher prescibed then they would get bitten or injure them selves. I, of course, told my professor this and was told off. Oh well. I guess I better do this their way or I will probably end up getting a bad grade. If I get anything less than an A in clinical skills I will hurt some one. Seriously. I am not joking.
Other than that... my classes are keeping me hella busy. It seems like they have actually made things doable this term, but I guess I should knock on some wood huh?
Anyway... 1 week is over! now on to week 2. BTW I may have lined up a summer job already. Not sure yet though, but hopefully it will work out. I would like to actually make some money this summer and keep up my skills. Instead of sitting on my ass and bugging 10k and my parents for money. I will just have to wait and see though.
