my old friend the casette tape

I was doing so well at avoiding all temptation...

This afternoon I perused Anthropologie (a new one in Pasadena - I always enjoy seeing how each store interior is handled) and I just took it all in, making mental notes. Then, the magnetic pull forced me up the escalator to Tower Records. I haven't been inside of a Tower in a long time.

To the right at the top of the escalator, there was a bin full of casette tapes...and like old friends they called out to me.
"Come, over here, yeah you -
you know you want to check us out.
We're cheap
and you won't feel as bad
if you buy several of us vs. several CDs."

So I looked...

and in no particular order, these are the 6 casette tapes that spoke the loudest and clearest to me tonight:
-top gun original motion picture soundtrack
-rage against the machine evil empire
-sade lovers rock
-beastie boys licensed to ill
-billy joel an innocent man
-bangles super hits

Pretty random sampling from the library of little miss 20three....but each tape kind of made think of different moods - so I look forward to listening to them all. Who knows, I might buy the CD for some of them - but for now - I'm enjoying the casette tape experience again. It's been a while, it's like spending time with an old friend :)

So I left Pasadena and headed home...while rockin' out to Rage in the car :)
"go white girl, it's your birthday..."

Then inside of me my stomach began to speak - "feed me In-n-Out" - and I was like, what?! And it just progressively got LOUDER and LOUDER! "FEED ME IN-N-OUT!"

I turned up the music, drove home and resisted the pleasure of an in-n-out burger this evening...but most likely I will have to satisfy that craving in the next two weeks before I head home for the holidays :)
