Recently I ordered two kits from www.knifekits.com, each one of the bali-songs they have. The bali-songs are called the Typhoon and Tsunami and they come disassembled and unsharpened. The Typhoon is the straighter one. It was designed by Darrel Ralph, a well known custom knife designer specializing in bali-songs. I think they gave it a big generic type blade so people can reprofile it if they want.

Looks don't always equate to a good bali-song for flipping. Take the Szabofly for instance:



To be a good flipper a bali-song has to be straight and balanced.

If you do get a Typhoon, just be aware that there's a good chance your tang pin will fall out.

Another option you may want to consider is the M-Tech Twist. M-Tech is a Chinese company that makes flea-market level balisongs in the $15-$30 price range. Their Twist design (a design that's also by Darrel Ralph) is their most "expensive", and people say it's actually decent for a cheap Chinese bali. I've never handled one, so I can't say for sure, but from what I've read I think it'd be equal to and probably a little better than the one you did have.
