An update, with bonus links.
So I didn't get that awesome, awesome library job. However, my internship at the newspaper is proving very interesting, and I've even been assigned to do an article on the Smart Start programme, so, uh, that's even more work experience than I was expecting. It's pretty neat!
Also neat: Spring is here. The sun is shining, the magnolias are blooming, and most tellingly of all, you can comfortably wander around outside in one layer. Thursday being Smart Start day, we ended early, and I thought about scurrying home to the internet like I normally do... but then I stepped outside and thought, no. I've already brought my lunch with me. So I crossed the street and wandered onto the beach, sat down on the black pebble shore and ate my sandwiches. (I am currently fixated on English mustard. One little jar of Coleman's goes an awfully long way.) And, you know, the breeze was still a little brisk, but it smelled like salt and the sun was shining and the sea was blue, and I had a very pleasurable stroll home along the waterfront, stopping occasionally to test my balance on the driftwood logs. My sense of balance, for the record, is pretty terrible.
As much as I despise being overheated - and, a month from now, I fully expect to be complaining about the suffocating warmth just like I was in February - it is novel, after an unpleasant winter, to not feel like outside is the enemy.
On the interweb side of things, I have a tumblr now, just because I got hooked on reading a bunch of them and it was just easier, okay, especially when I got the urge to reblog stuff. And that's mostly what my tumblr is, fair warning. Endless reblogging of cool stuff. Like the new Florence + The Machine single, which is awesome. Also gifs. So many gifs.
