Today is a day for bacon and hermitism.
It's good I have the day off today, because winter has hit. It is no longer sensible to walk to the Kelburn shops without shoes, or even to walk around the house with less than two layers of clothing. The windows are fogged, and rain is sheeting through the valley - it's even coming through the (closed) bathroom window.
I am going to spend the day eating bacon and crumpets and tea, watching TV, and spending as little time outside as is strictly necessary. Tonight I will roast lamb. It'll be wall-to-wall comfort food and huddling in here.
(Yes, I realise I just broke radio silence to provide a weather update, but it's genuinely the first interesting thing that's happened to me in 20 days.)
