In which I fail to be particularly cheerful.

I have pies in the oven, made out of leftover beef and vegetable stew, sheets of shortcrust pastry that I was too lazy to make myself, and some parmesan cheese on top. I'm trying to make leftovers more interesting, but I still have about two thirds of the original stew left; this may be a problem. And by a problem, I mean man, 200g of chuck steak ( Read more... )

SJS has worked wonders for me in the past, since my last three jobs came from there, including my current one which is a student's dream. (If only FishServe were hiring.) I suggest you go there in the morning, because if it is a draining experience, you will be able to distract yourself with classes and still have a free afternoon.

I don't know how to make pie..

I shall do it in the morning, then, and at least go to class with a sense of accomplishment.

Pie is ridonculously easy, especially if you happen to have muffin trays. Grease your tin, roll out the appropriate pastry (or get sheets of it from the freezer section, which I did because see above re: lazy), stamp out a circle big enough to fill the tin and make a sort of cup (and make sure you don't poke holes in it, because the end results are messy), put in your ingredients, stamp out a slightly smaller circle for the lid, insert in hot oven and bake until brown. THEN EAT IT ALL AND LEAVE NO LEFTOVERS.

*totally has a stomach ache*

Tea is apparently good for stomachache. Lois McMaster Bujold's canon says so.

Then again, I tried one of Robert Heinlein's canon hangover cures once ('I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE FROM FOLLOWING THIS POSSIBLY FICTIONAL ADVICE'), and it totally didn't work...
