I should not be forced to join Dreamwidth just because a friend on LJ cross-posted something from there that I wanted to reply to! Yes, we actually have an account now, but I only get 1 1/2 hours of internet per day, and Dreamwidth is not so "user friendly" for me as some of my friends keep saying it is.
Yeah, I wasn't actually eager to "upgrade" to Dreamwidth anyway, but due to a friend deleting her LJ account and using only her Dreamwidth account anymore because of some sort of drama on an LJ comm, I felt obligated to.
I'm not going to use Dreamwidth at all, with it's already apparent interest in overwhelming and outdoing any and all other online journal sites out there. (This goes for Facebook as well. I only reluctantly joined MyWaste [Myspace] when a friend and I were checking it out to see what it was worth, THE HELL if I'm jumping on the latest fad!)
FUCK THAT!!!
So we've got a new kid in town and everybody's jumping on his wagon, thinking he's the greatest thing. No, he's not the greatest, just the latest. And for those who left LJ because of the drama, how long do you really think it's going to be before Dreamwidth starts having the same issues? Do you want to bet in hours or minutes?
Dreamwidth's the latest thing, the cool fad to follow, right? Trouble with fads is that they tend to have very short lifespans. Sure, the flashy new sports car looks hot, but when it comes to getting you home from the middle of nowhere with bad roads, I'll take my Dad's old beat up 4x4 truck!
I'd rather deal with LJ and all it's various issues 10 times before I'll give over to some new kid journal that hasn't even proven it's going to be around in a year or so!
Enough said.

(music is actually "New Kid in Town" by the Eagles, but I thought the way I worded it fit more accurately.)
