I shop online, but only with things I've used, can check out from IRL friends, fondled at local yarn stores already...

I've also only purchased from Etsy, Webs and Knitpicks... Webs is good if you have a yarn in mind and you can find it cheaper there

I was actually looking at knitpicks, its what made me make the post. I'm trying to learn how to knit in the round and they have adverts for their shop all over knitting help.

I'm a big fan of Knitpicks Shine Worsted (and Sport). The colors are lovely and it's super soft and easy wash. I made a blanket for a friend's impending baby and had a bit of trouble letting it go when I was done.

Sure thing! I'm a yarn fondle-er, too, but a co-worker is a big fan of these yarns and I was able to touch before ordering. The lovely thing about their Shine yarns is that they are really pretty inexpensive, even though the ball isn't huge or anything.

I've ordered from knitpicks several times. I've never had a problem with them. If you want to get an idea of what you can make from their different yarns, I'd suggest taking a look at the projects for that yarn on ravelry.

(P.S. I fondle the heck out of yarns whenever I go to a yarn shop.)
