Socks, Legwarmers, Mitts and More Socks

I finished another pair of socks last Friday evening. They were actually finished Friday morning... until I realized one was an inch longer than the other. So I ripped out the toe and 10 rounds of the longer one and reknit the toe. Then I ripped out the toe, but not any additional rounds, of the second and reknit that toe to match (since they were originally knit toe-up, and a toe-up toe looks a little different than a cuff-down toe). Anyway, it turned out to be a good thing that I had inadvertently added 10 rounds to one foot because that caused the striping the match up. I do love a happy accident. By the way, the yarn is Lang Jawoll Aktion in color #132.201 (red/orange/green), and the pattern is just a simple ribbed sock that I made up as I went.

Next, I knit some simple, ribbed legwarmers for a coworker who is to young to remember the 80's. She wanted dark grey, so I used some Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted in color #152 Oxford Grey. The pattern is the Super-Easy Legwarmers from Joelle Hoverson's "Last-Minute Knitted Gifts". She squealed, jumped up and down and hugged me when I gave them to her. I think she liked them.

Just this morning, I finished another pair of Fetching mitts. These are for another coworker who is always cold. They're made with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted in color #153 Black. I'll give them to her tomorrow probably, so we'll see if she likes them then. Like the other Fetchings I've made, I added a thumb gusset, detailed here.

And I've started another pair a socks with the gorgeous Noro Kureyon Sock my sister-in-law gave me. I'm using the Blueberry Waffle Socks pattern, except toe-up with a short-row heel. And I'm definitely liking them so far. What do you think?
