A new year: an attempt at this modern technology

I have returned from my yearly trip. No matter how many years I’ve made it, it doesn't get any easier for me. However, I made the most of it so it’s all Jake. The monk I visited taught me a few new techniques and I got to enjoy the simple pleasures. I wonder if I'll be able to add them to my lecture. It’s hard to believe another year has started for us. Time seems to just fly by.

Classes are about to begin again. I'm looking forward to another year of students beating their gums about me being hard on them, and how! I wonder how long it will take for someone to take some wooden nickels. Perhaps I should put a few Cs on a date, but that'll get me an earful from the Big Cheese. She'd cast kittens.

Instead, I should stop futzing around and work on my syllabus for the year. But first, I decided to make this thing. I'm used to my typewriter, but this seems to be the way to communicate. I'll give it a go.
