My manic F'n self
I'm rushing through a last minute vacation plan right now. If all goes well I will be at a cabin on the Gunflint Lake in a day and a half. It's been a busy week, in a good way. The job that was a very light hold as grip/electric/camera assistant for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday as of last week turned into gaffer/photographer at the last minute. Not a bad last minute field promotion. To be brief I lit more than I shot, there seemed to be some tension between the director and the cinematographer as to who was shooting. I work with both of these guys and didn't want to burn a bridge by stepping up into a pissing contest. I stepped back, lit the shot, pre-lit the next shot, watched the first AC's (under qualified) back and handed off my camera to one guy or another to shoot stills, while remaining ready to shoot for them. All of the above happened. A very busy boring three day job. Trying to make something interesting out of a pro-mo vid for Health Partners. My ninja set skills were in full force and my eye was at the top of its game. Now that's done I'm speeding up to wind down. I didn't think this month was this busy but it's suddenly the 20th (WTF!?)
As of now I am gainfully unemployed. When I get back I can harmonize the chaos that entropy has brought on in my absence. After this is done I will be able to see you all (my friends) at the next gathering. I know I am not there enough, but will try to be when time allows. Thanks to everyone who is. I miss you all.
