Disclaimer/Notes/Whatever: I had so much fun writing these! Many of them were inspired by my Russell rpg character, though I stayed close to canon as much as possible. I may be adding/editing more things in the future if I think of any changes, so I guess these can be considered a WIP :D Oh, there may also be some spoilers from the movie!
1) Russell considers Ed a very good friend, even though he doesn't refer to him that way (because he's never had many friends before).
2) Russell's first kiss was with a girl named Olivia (she was two years older than him) back when he was still living in Xenotime under the name Edward Elric. She cornered him by the shed where he had been reparing some farming tools for her father. He thinks she only did it because she thought he was some famous alchemist because, once she found out the truth, he never saw her again (he still feels guilty about lying to her).
3) This led him to think that girls will only like him if he's famous (he doesn't have time for girls anyway).
4) Fletcher is the only one that can take care of Russell even though Russell tells him not to worry (somtimes he does need to be taken care of). If it wasn't for his brother, Russell would probably forget to eat sometimes.
5) Russell knows it's easier to let Fletcher take care of him (even though he's the one who's supposed to be taking care of Fletcher).
6) Russell was inspired by Edward Elric and has since been studying to become a state alchemist (he's not doing it for himself but only for his brother). Once he's a state alchemist, he's sure things will be much more stable for them.
7) Russell needs to learn how to slow down once and while, because once he sets his mind to a task, he won't stop until it is sucessfully finished. This is especially unfortunate for him when a project is not going well, but Russell hides his stress from others and works through it (Fletcher is the only one who isn't fooled by this act).
8) When they moved to central, Russell imediately turned their little living room into THE LAB (he spends a lot of time locked inside).
9) Russell has a hard time admiting things to people (especially those that he looks up to) so he hides his fear and sadness but, as hard as he tries, he can never cover up his anger.
10) He was eleven when his father left and it was the only time he's ever cried in front of another person (and his mother held him tight and sung him a lullaby from when he was younger). He told himself that he would never let himself break down like that again.
11) He was thirteen when his mother died and Russell sat in silence for an entire day (until Fletcher came to find him and he remembered his new responsibility).
12) Russell doesn't hate is father for leaving (he just doesn't want to let him down).
13) Sometimes he wants to just get up and walk away from it all (and immediately feels guilty for even thinking about it).
14) Russell loves cats (he's never told this to anyone) and when Fletcher adopted a small one and named it Puffy, Russell really didn't mind when it sometimes slept on his pillow.
15) His mother used to have him and Fletcher help her in the garden everyday since he was five (Russell loves the smell of dirt). For some reason, roses never grew in their yard until Russell started using alchemy to help them along. He'll always be thankful to her for teaching him about plants.
16) The letter that Russell gave to Ed was mainly an attempt to get rid of some of his guilt (he mentioned the part about age and height just to make Ed mad). Sometimes he's not sure if it worked.
17) When Fletcher asked why Russell had been whistling cheerfully while at the train station in Xenotime after having just seen off the Elric brothers, (an old habit he hadn't done in years), Russell couldn't give him any specific reason.
18) He always wonders what happened to Ed. He had heard a rumor that he was back and involved in that fight in Central (which wouldn't surprise Russell in the least). But he never could find out if the rumors were true or not.
19) Russell has turned smugness into an art form (even though that's not who he really is) also making it something to hide behind if he needs to.
20) His middle name is Nash (a name to live up to) but he's never found the need to tell anyone about it.
