Breaking the silence

So I haven't said much in a while. Life was all a bit shit there for a while, as those who know me well already knew (sorry again ms_lilith for missing your 30th birthday party). In a nutshell, the depression re-visited, I shut down and blogging was way beyond the level of things I could contemplate doing. But things are much much better now, and despite my having become unhappily single, life is beginning to sort itself out. Most importantly I am sorting it out (with a lot of help from my friends) and taking control again. So there it is. Let's not speak of it any more!

A much more exciting thing was my birthday 'gathering' (wanted it smaller than a party, had 8 guests; including the TDH one because we're friends). Lovely people came round, and I fed them balti butter chicken, chocolate mousse and jelly and ice cream. We played pass the parcel (with 'guess the bible verse' in each layer - it's nice that they humour me in these things), F produced a delicious cake with the right number of candles, and I gave everyone party bags and we spent a good while blowing bubbles and discussing how the other contents of the bag would assist the boys in playing Warhammer (groan). Then, since I had asked the TDH one to bring other games, and I wanted to try the Really Nasty Horseracing Game we played it. It's good fun (especially when you win by betting all your money on the winning horse in the last race), but I agree with the player who felt there was just a little too much luck of the dice involved.

People departed with 4 minutes of birthday left to go, and I got hugs off them all, because hugs make 20_4 happy. A lovely birthday, and a reminder, if it were needed, that I know some really nice, fun people who will let me be me when I let myself be me!

And my final comment for tonight, is that I have become more of a skirt person. This is largely because I managed to buy some lovely ones in the sales last week, and didn't buy any trousers, and since my existing clothes don't really fit me right now (depression - it's the best diet I know) and I feel better about myself in fitting things, I am wearing skirts a lot!

Right, I hope to be back soon. Bye!
