I saw an interview with Michael Grant Duncan on the Craig Ferguson late show last night. What suprised me was that he said that HH was a writing genius! Made me laugh so much! If HH was a writing genius he would:
1. Have written in Bones & Booth together AGESSSSSSSSS ago! 2. Not always believe that his show would end like Moonlight 3. Have provided and shown backstories and not just said or changed things really quickly.
Just hope with two shows on air HH (possibly) I hope that the level of quality doesnt go down further than it already has!
I don't think HH is a writing genius but I don't think him not putting B/B together makes him any more or less of a genius.
Every creator fears the Moonlighting curse, not just HH.
I agree with your third part. The back stories have changed so much from season 1. Huge things and little things. It's bad writing, and doesn't make him a writing genius.
Every creator fears the Moonlighting curse, not just HH.That's because there's actual story logic behind it, which is what people don't get, I think

I don't know if I bought the three characters separately and together. I think the script was trying way too hard as well as the actors. There were several scenes with just the tree of them that made me cringe. I felt like it was just trying way to hard to be like a lot of other shows out there.
I really didn't like the female there was just something about her that rubbed me the wrong way...She reminded me of a lot of other characters...especially Fiona off of Burn Notice. They just didn't do anything for me. I don't know if I'll watch it.
Next week. This was never intended to be an actual Bones ep, which is the reason it's the extra ep this season.
I remember a series from the 90s that did a spin-off/pilot where the main character of the series was in it for about 10 seconds at the beginning and that was it. He wasn't in any of the rest of it, and yet it 'counted' as a regular ep of the series.
So beyond that I actually liked the story...I see what we got from B&B as a gift, a bonus.
I was actually getting kinda excited for this ep based on the promos. Unfortunately they were pretty misleading. The promos made it seem like Booth and Brennan would still be front and center. This was more like The Finder and team with Booth and Brennan guest starring. I realize that this was on purpose, it being a backdoor pilot, but I didn't like it. They should have just made a regular Bones ep with these people as guest stars and then made their own pilot.
As for the Finder, they really didn't give us much if they were hoping to attract Bones viewers into watching this show. The dialogue between The Finder and his team seemed forced and boring. And there was no backstory for Walter besides "I was in a war", so it was kinda hard to relate to him. Yes, he's quite attractive, but if they're honestly thinking droves of people are going to tune in for his pecs and not much else, they're deluded.
I couldn't agree more. I was looking forward to this episode. I knew it would be Bones lite, but I was curious about it as a potential spinoff, but it doesn't seem to have worked. I still love Michael Clark Duncan, and Geoff Stultz isn't too bad, but it does seem very forced. Saffron Burrows however really bugged me. She over-acted everything and is not at all believable which is strange because I have liked her in other roles.
I think if it does get picked up, I'd probably give it one or two episodes to try and draw me in, but they need to fix a lot of stuff.
I'm not familiar with Saffron Burrows work, but yeah her character bugged me the most. I can't see how she fits in. She doesn't seem like a love interest to either of the two guys and she doesn't seem to have any particularly useful skills besides flying a plane and mispronouncing words for laughs which will get old real fast.
They only had so much time in this ep, particularly if they were going to give us the B&B moments that they did. Not much time to add in for a lot of backstory on Walter
