at long last...

The details of my life are quite inconcsequential...
however,
Things have been very busy for me lately and so my life doesn't leave a lot time to sit and update, but I'm going to take a few moments. Mostly I work, then take Ashley back and forth to work, and watch our son Nicholai. What little time we spend together is usually spent watching each other play video games or watching movies together and a few times a week having sex (which is nice). We spend a decent (or indecent, as it may be) time arguing with each other over pointless things or not getting along on certain things (me an Ashley, that is, not us an Nick), but we are far from any conclusion as to how large of a factor those things will have over our entire relationship. I may go further into detail at a later time, but not now. A few months ago I had a lack of sleep related accident on my way to work and so I've have to be much more strict on my bedtime since then. It still only allows me a maximum of 5 or 6 hours during the week, but that's an improvement over the 5 or more often 4 that I was getting before. I fell asleep driving the car right before a stop sign and woke up just in time to slow down a bit before back ending a truck. It didn't do much (if any) damage to the truck, but it "totalled" our car. It could have been a blessing, since I wasn't hurt, we got $1,000 from the insurance company (plus lower rates until the policy renews, since our full coverage was dropped), and the car still runs perfectly fine (it just doesn't look too hot. We are in the process of trying to obtain a new car, a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero on a rebuilt title (still excellent condition after repairs) for $4,000 but we are having trouble with the loan process. We want to get Ashley a loan to build her credit, but it hasn't been working out. Hope and pray with us that we will get the car, we need it.

Aside from that, this summer we have a lot of work that we need to get done on the house, including: putting in new windows, redoing the facia, and putting vinyl siding on over the wood siding we have now. I'm estimating this work at $5000-$6000 if we do it all ourselves, with a little help from friends and family, which is pricy, but once it's done it's done. When you buy a house there is a lot of work to be done, but it's more than worth it since it both drives up the value of your home and makes it feel more and more like "your home" with each new thing you add. It's a great investment and it makes you think about things a lot more responsibly at the same time. As a reward when this stage of work is done we are going to get ourselves a widescreen tv and an xbox360 this holiday season. We already got a great 5.1 surround system on clearance at Wal-Mart for $175 plus $21 to send off for a new remote. When the system is finished I'm sure you'll all want to visit:oP

Among the top albums that have been released so far this year are: Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning / Tom Waits - Real Gone / and System Of A Down - Mezmorize. Among the most disappointing are: The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute / Weezer - (don't recall) / and Gorillaz - Demon Days. Some excellent games to play include the brilliantly written and directed God Of War (PS2), the completely revamped Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube), and Doom 3 (Xbox). Also, if you haven't played Burnout 3, give it a whirl before Revenge comes out this fall. On the movie side, I'm going to put Star Wars Episode III right up there with The Empire Strikes Back (my favorite of the series). All of the icky fat of the first two has been cut away leaving only the most amazing computer graphics to date and a story that doesn't stop for a breath. Also I would recommend: Garden State, The Aviator, Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle, Team America: World Police, and a good few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. If any of you have kept up with the latest news on the next generation of video game consoles, you must be every bit as excited as I am. It looks like the games we have always made up in our head are finally going to be not only achieved, but surpassed. Hell, some of the above games I mention damn near do that now.

And as a final bit for now, I'll leave you off with a couple of the new poems that I've written. Hopefully I get get my book compiled soon and send it off to publishers. I'm finally to the point, I believe where I can take criticism for what it is and often times a simple "well, who the fuck are you to say?" could suffice. Later.

Alas, Ignorance

Alas, Ignorance
Unmistakable incompetence
Unforgivable intolerance
Alas, lacks confidence
And this breeds
And this bleeds
Uncommon sense
All too commonly
Outspoken nonsense
“Please tell the faggots,
Not to taint our holy vows”
And how holy are they, anyhow
Those words you hold sacred
Buried beneath unspoken hatred
Recited like a zombie chant
To love for life, even if you can’t
Because their love is stronger
Is that why you rant
“Please someone, tell that whore
Not to kill our children anymore”
As she cries alone in a corner
You vultures smugly scorn her
She had no means to care for
The child that grew inside her
And though she had no desire
For the life line to cease
Fear and confusion took precedence
Over your disease
The commonly uncommon sense
The unforgivable incompetence
Your arrogance, her consequence
Alas, Ignorance

Uncommon Sense
(To Flip The Coin)

I, the lonely Christian
On a lowly mission
Another Lamb of God
And though I may seem odd
My life on earth has meaning
And I do not mean to be demeaning
When I justly say
That my God hates gays
Those dirty little creatures
With their disgraceful features
Why must they shame us all
Speaking loud and walking tall
I, the hypocrite
I do not give a…crap
About the lies they spill
I know I carry out His will
I might have missed a verse or two
But what I read sticks like glue
Murder is murder and that is fact
An abortion signs the Devil’s pact
And as you burn for your sin
Think of the life you held within
It could have sprouted into something great
But instead was snuffed out with your hate
They say I have a twisted way of thinking
And ask how much have I been drinking
“Not a drop,” I proudly say
For that is not my Savior’s way
And if I must walk this path alone
I will mend until all wrong is sewn
