Another week, another session.

Davis is waiting. It's been a long few months, getting Jenny through the stresses of this pregnancy, but she also has a feeling the tides are turning. It isn't about Jenny being happier, but about being just a little bit more stable. Jenny's looking her in the eye more, responding more, and she's even seen a smile or two. But she's treading

Jen arrives on time, like always. She's wearing that same oversized sweater she wore all winter, except now it fits better. She takes her usual seat across from Davis.

[2012_approaches]

Davis gives her a smile. "How are you doing, Jenny?"

[on_jennys_terms]

She gives Davis a slight smile back. "I'm okay. Tired."

[2012_approaches]

Davis nods. That's a normal state. So, she dives in. They've developed a rapport. She doesn't need to dance around to get to the real opening question. "What's on your mind today?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"I'm worrying about Charlie. Like every day," she says, folding her hands in her lap.

[2012_approaches]

Another nod. "That's normal, Jenny." She pauses. "What is your specific worry right now?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"Right now," she says, "I'm worrying that I won't make it to 37 weeks. If Charlie were healthy, it wouldn't be perfect but it would be okay. She's not, though."

[2012_approaches]

"Are the doctors worried that you won't?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"They're not worried exactly, but they say it's a strong possibility, given my age and my history and the nature of Charlie's problems."

[2012_approaches]

"And do you have a plan ready to go?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"Yeah, we started working on it a few weeks ago."

[2012_approaches]

"And what does it entail?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"Well," Jen pauses, "it depends."

[2012_approaches]

Davis pauses. "On?" She gives Jenny the control to decide where the conversation goes.

[on_jennys_terms]

"Whether or not I go to term. I have a somewhat typical plan for that. And if I don't, my doctors have a plan that can easily be adapted depending on the situation."

[2012_approaches]

She tilts her head. "Such as?"
