I'm currently watching a show on the Discovery channel, called "Born Without a Face." It's about this girl who was born with a large gaping hole for a mouth, an almost non-existent nose, and protuding eyes, only one of which is useful. I think the most interesting thing is the way the parents react to it. Somehow, they can look at their child and not be disgusted. It's puzzling, but it's something that, I think, most parents have inside them from the time their child is born.

I'd probably get that empty kinda sick feeling when I saw the picture of that one girl who was severely burned by getting hit by a drunk driver. *Shudder* I still felt sorry for her, but I wanted to cry everytime I looked at her face.
