I've noticed that a few things seem to be a bit misunderstood, and I wanted to take this moment to better explain things.
1. Please be sure to send your photoshoots to
tm.judges2@gmail.com. The other e-mail address,
tm.judges@gmail.com, is used for general questions and applications.
2. Make sure you resize your pictures. During previous cycles it wasn't a problem for me to resize images myself if I saw that they needed to be, but now I rarely have the time or resources to do that. Besides, they are your pictures; therefore, they are your responsibility.
3. Polls are included every week. There was NEVER a time where it was stated that they wouldn't be included. Some weeks the viewers will be asked who they think should be eliminated, and sometimes there will be other questions instead. If the poll isn't going the way you want, use it as motivation to do better next time. The poll is only used in the event of a tie when its time to pick a winner.
4. Test shots are required. Starting with the next challenge, if you do not submit test shots, you will be considered (it's not a 100% given that you'll get the boot, but there is a chance) for elimination. This is the ONLY way ANY of you will be considered for it, so be sure you submit SOMETHING. If you submit a test shot, you're safe unless you don't submit your photoshoot. I really hate having to put this rule in motion, but several of you have failed to do the test shots for this week and last week, and they are an important part of the photoshoot. You need to have things planned out before you start taking pictures, and it's not fair to your fellow contestants that took time out to shoot me an e-mail, when you haven't done so yourself. If there is some sort of emergency and you're unable to submit test shots one week, just let me know.
5. As far as test shots are concerned, it is much more effective if you wait until after you submit your tests to do your actual photoshoot. The whole purpose of the test shots is to tell me your ideas so I can give you feedback, tell you what I think will/won't work, tell you if you're going in the same direction as someone else and need to change things up a bit, or help you if you're stuck. I'm here to help you, but I can't help if you've already done your own thing without taking what I have to say into thought and consideration. I also cannot help you if you've made up in your mind that the shoot is too difficult for you to do.
6. For your test shots i'd prefer a thorough description of what you plan to do, but you can send a short blurb, a sketch, a picture of the outfit you plan to wear, etc. It's not restricted to a long drawn out e-mail. Get creative with it.
7. Keeping in mind that I, along with Jasmine
likelesliecaron, typically come up with the shoots each week, complaining to us because you dislike it isn't really the best idea (unless we want you to take pictures on another planet or something). It's our my fault that it rains or snows when you have an outdoor shoot. Find some kind of way to "Make it work!"
8. You don't have to agree with what I, or the other judges (and viewers!) have to say, but please respect it. Every single judge we have now has been an integral part of this community for YEARS now, and most have been where you are. Take the advice given to you, and cherish it. If someone tells you the photoshopping you did to one of your pictures is poor, submit the original so someone here can edit it for you. If someone is telling you that a photo you love isn't the best you're capable of, listen to them because they clearly see something far greater in you, and if you're told that a particular article of clothing isn't flattering on you, STOP wearing it in your photoshoots (wear it when you're not being LJNTM fierce).
9. Be thankful the judges we have now are nice, cause we have had some Janice's and Nole's in the past (I know, because I was one of them circa cycle 5...).
10.
ljntmthemes is available for you guys that would like to know the themes as soon as they're available. The themes are usually posted ATLEAST a day or two early.
11. Make some friends, please. You guys can complain about how mean I am together... behind my back, of course.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in this screened entry, or send an e-mail. Thanks so much to all of you for submitting pics 2 weeks in a row. I appreciate you more than you know.
