Charles/Erik - Dead Like Me Crossover

Charles makes it off the beach but being jostled around when Erik turned him over and when they carried him off exacerabted his injuries, caused complications during surgery, and he died.

Except now he's a Reaper.

So I've been thinking about writing this since irishbrunett prompted it a few rounds ago and I might have a little bit written for it but I have a question.

Can I change around how Charles dies? Like during a training accident or something, rather than at the beach?

OP here:

It doesn't matter how Charles dies, but what I would want is basically that it is post-divorce and Erik has lots of guilt and angst. And Charles has a lot of angst and longing.

As for the other Reapers, considering the time frame, Rube, Betty, or Daisy would be awesome, but it can be all OCs or different characters from X-Men canon.

I would be so excited to see this done!

I wrote a little of it before I asked about specifics and it came out as this way weird X Men meets Dead Like Me meets AU from hell, so I'm going to fix it up and post the first bit soon. Like in the next day or so.

I really feel bad for Charles here--if only because I'd have rather seen myself die then wake up to a Reaper talking to me.
