pray for the troops

Mar 13, 2005 00:15

So I recieved a chain email from denise that was this long bit of prose about soldiers and fighting and weapons and guns. It was meant to inspire or provoke thought, I think. But any talk of killing and dying, especially in a war that I have had horrified sentiments about from the start, makes me quesy and sad for the human race...particularly we as Americans. However....the idea was to inspire everyone to pray for our troops. SO....since I couldn't bring myself to forward the pictures of and discussion about weapons...I have decided to post this...

Whether you agree of disagree with the horrific and immoral actions of Bush, etc. There are women and men who risk their lives and do intense scary things to protect us and serve what is still one of the greatest nations in the world. Ours. They deserve our support. They deserve our prayers...

I pray that noone ever has to look at another woman and kill her...
I pray the same for a man
I pray that noone ever has to bomb a city
or a building
or a car
I pray that noone is ever tortured
I pray that noone ever has to bleed unjustly
I pray that noone ever has to risk her life unjustly
I pray that noone ever has to miss her loved ones
I pray that someone is always their to protect my nation
I pray that that is actually what they're sent to do
I pray that our leaders consider their battles carefully
I pray for less hate
I pray for more love
I pray for an idealistic world
I pray anyway
I pray that every person everywhere will care
I pray that everyone will pray
I pray that all soldiers will know I fight AGAINST the war FOR them
I pray that they know they have my support
I pray that all wives will get their husbands back
I pray that all husbands will get their wives back
I pray that all children will get their parents back
I pray this prayer for the iraqis too
I pray for understanding all around
I pray for honesty from our leaders
I pray for healthy discussion and thought

I PRAY FOR PEACE
everyday
I PRAY

PEACE

PEACE

PEACE

PEACE

PEACE
