Drabble dump because I realized I have a bunch of ancient things that never got posted. /o/
Strawberries are very strange and confusing things.
Narancia has come to this conclusion after much careful observation and research.
When he gives Fugo a good morning kiss as they're making breakfast, the younger boy scowls and blushes and says something about "not where everyone else can see us, you moron".
Narancia ponders over this.
The next day, he refrains from even acknowledging Fugo's presence when they pass each other in the hallway. Fugo pulls him aside and asks if Narancia's mad at him or something. Narancia assures him he's not, smiles, and keeps walking.
The day after, Fugo is confused and annoyed and wants to know why Narancia's avoiding him, dammit. Narancia is puzzled and wonders why he would think that.
"You didn't kiss me good morning, so I thought..." Fugo trails off, then turns as red as his namesake. "N-not that I want you to or anything like that, because it's embarrassing, but-"
Strawberries, Narancia thinks as he shuts Fugo up with a kiss, are indeed very strange and confusing things.
"I'm bored."
"You're always bored." Riku said. He was leaning back against a palm tree, absentmindedly drawing patterns in the sand.
Sora puffed out his cheeks. "So? I'm extra bored today." He poked Riku's forehead. "And anyway, you're bored too."
Riku batted his hand away. "So what are we going to do?"
Sora looked thoughtful for a moment. Then he grinned. "We can go exploring!"
"We go exploring all the time." Riku closed his eyes, leaning back again. "Come up with something new."
"Fine! I'll think of something great to do and then you'll have to admit that I'm more awesomer than you are!" Sora stuck his tongue out at his best friend, then dashed off toward the other side of the play island.
Riku sighed. Awesomer wasn't even a word. And Sora would be back. Probably in a few minutes with no more ideas than he'd started with.
He must have dozed off under the warm sunshine, because the next thing he knew, he was being rudely awakened by a giant splattery handful of mud on his head.
And Sora laughing so hard he could barely breathe.
"DAMMIT, SORA, GET BACK HERE!"
"I had a dream about this guy last night." Uzuki tried to sound mildly casual and offhand, and only managed vaguely depressed.
Kariya grinned. "Really."
She punched him lightly in the arm. "Shut up. Not like that."
They were sitting on the roof of the 109 building - no work today. Kariya unwrapped another lollipop and stuck it in his mouth. "Like what, then?"
Uzuki sighed. "I don't know. I can't remember all of it. There were... books, I remember that. Everyone had a book with them. I don't know why. And there was this guy. Skinny redhead with weird little marks on his face. You and Minamimoto were there, but then you sort of disappeared. And the guy..."
"...Axel."
She looked up. "What?"
Kariya stared. "I... don't know. Axel. His name was Axel."
"How-?"
"I don't know, aight? It just sounds like the right name for him." Kariya shrugged.
"...Yeah. Yeah, you're right." She looked down. Something about her hands... someone holding them, taking one and touching it to his chest and she could feel it, the rhythmic beat that had been missing until-
"...Uzuki," he said, worried, laying a hand on her shoulder, "Uzuki, girl, you're crying."
And she was. She raised a hand to her face, touching the wetness on her cheek. "I... I'm not, dammit, leave me alone."
Kariya looked concerned. "You okay?"
"I don't know."
