HOLY FUCK I LOVE KAIJI. I'm a sucker for series based around sports and/or games (note to self: read the rest of HikaGo), and Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji: The Suffering Pariah definitely did not disappoint. If you prefer your anime painfully generic in both art style and plot, look elsewhere and know that I hate your guts. How am I being so coherent? I don't know. ZAWA ZAWA.
~the man himself: KAIJI HOW ARE YOU SO MOE. THOSE TEARS...agh. I can't even talk about how much I adore him. But I will say that it's easy to see why /a/non loev kaiji. XD
~Furuhata and Andou: Dear god these two are annoying. Seriously. I can't wait until Sahara shows up - Kaiji needs better allies than these losers.
~Along with the factory whistle from Sweeney Todd, and that creepy thing avacadoquill does with her eyelids, ZAWA ZAWA scares the living hell out of me. O_O
~FUCK YEAH BLUE HEARTS OPENING SONG. <3
~God, this show fills me with righteous fury and makes me want to go out and beat up some yakuza. I need to go play Brawl and get rid of this frustration. XD
I'm sure I'll have more to say about Kaiji when I get a little farther on. I'll have to put Akagi on my GIANT LIST OF DOOM now too.
Princess Tutu
(through episode 7)
I actually started this show about a year ago, but school and my tendency to jump between series like a flea kept me from continuing. Princess Tutu is one of those series that simultaneously makes my heart soar with joy and makes me want to start crying. It's that beautiful.
~Ahiru: I've always felt a sort of connection to her. Ever since I was little, I've wanted to be on the stage, and I loved to dance around my room listening to the Nutcracker and pretending I was Clara. When I was about seven, I started taking ballet lessons. But...I kinda have the self-esteem of a...not very self-esteemy thing. None of the other little girls wanted to be friends with me, and the teacher was not exactly warm and welcoming. I gave up within a few months.
Sure, I channel my love of performance into acting and singing now. But to this day, I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I continued dancing. I'm not naturally thin or graceful, but maybe I could have...I don't know.
God, this sounds like some emo blog. Maybe I should go listen to Linkin Park. -_-U
~FAKIR OWNS MYTHO'S SKINNY SEXY ASS. THAT IS ALL. Except Mytho/Rue is kinda sweet, and Fakir/Ahiru = so OTP it hurts. And Rue and Ahiru could have some hot hot hatesex...so could Rue and Fakir, for that matter. I can't bring myself to like Mytho with Ahiru, though... FUCK IT. THE FOUR OF YOU - GO HAVE AN ORGY.
~RUE STOP BEING SO SEXY AND HATEABLE AT THE SAME TIME. She's like Guy of Gisbourne. Wow, I really am tired if I'm making comparisons like that.
~I actually really like Edel. I hope we get to see more of her. I lol'd @ the jewel called Artistic License.

I can fangirl over silly things as much as I want, but GODDAMN THIS SHOW IS FANTASTIC. The plot, the characters, the music, the art...Seriously, there's nothing I don't like. And the random animal students are HILARIOUS.
Genshiken OAVs and Genshiken 2
(all three OAVs and the series through episode 7)
I love Genshiken. I really do. No matter what situation the characters are in, I'm almost always able to say, "Hey, that happened to me!" or "Hey, I know someone like that!" And it's seriously one of the funniest shows ever - I'd rank it right next to Cromartie High School and Azumanga Daioh (with Lucky Star coming in close behind). Now if only I could find the last volume of the manga...
~Sasahara: OH SASAYAN YOU'VE GROWN UP. I still love the "I'll decide when I lose my virginity" scene. YOU GO, BOY. I can't wait to see him and Ogiue get together. <3
~Madarame: EVERYONE KNOWS I LOVE HIM. WHY DON'T I JUST PROVE IT YET AGAIN. Hiyama, I do believe your voice is sexy no matter what role you're playing. <3 I STILL LOVE THE FANG. FANGS MAKE ANYONE IRRESISTABLE. And they did a great job on the episode where he gets the new outfit. That was always one of my favorite chapters of the manga.
~Saki: How did she become one of my favorite female characters in anime? She's just so AWESOME. Saki-chan don't take nothing from nobody. Also LOL at playing Katamari with Kousaka and subtly perving on Ogichi in the dressing room. XD
~Ogiue: DARLING STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP. I LOEV YOU AND YOUR STUPID PAINTBRUSH HAIR. AND SO DOES SASAYAN SO JUST HOOK UP ALREADY. Overactive imagination FTW - I love her internal monologues.
~In the first OAV, when Ohno scattered the doujins on the table, at least three of them were clearly FMA. Apparently Ohno likes Roy/Ed and Elricest. This amuses me greatly.
~I absolutely adored the episode focusing on Ohno and Tanaka getting together. They just sort of...started dating in the manga, and I always felt like there was something missing. I totally lol'd at their makeout scene though - sure it was sweet, but it just sounded so funny!
~The new ending theme is so beautiful, seriously. I've listened to it waaaaaay too many times in the past week. I wonder if there's a karaoke version...
~OH GOD EPISODE FIVE. I think that's the best adaptation they've done so far. The "are you trying to run away" bit was great BUT THEN IT JUST KEPT GETTING BETTER. In the manga, Madarin and Sasayan were the only ones she fantasized about. In the anime, THE WHOLE CLUB SHOWED UP. Sasahara is an abusive boyfriend, so Madarame went back to Tanaka, who's engaged to Ohno, so Sasahara wants to get back together with Kousaka, who rejects him because he's with Saki WHO IS WEARING A CHEONGSAM AND LOOKS LIKE A BROTHEL MADAM. SOMEHOW THIS MAKES HER EVEN HOTTER THAN USUAL. Also: when he's being fantasy!Madarin, Hiyama starts sounding suspiciously like Viral. It's wonderful.
Okay, it's getting late and I can't even use my brain properly at this point. I'll post more later.
