Tyki never knew why Road stared at her hands so much, until he noticed that she got a new ring after every fight they have with the exorcists.

Allen knew he couldn’t save everyone, but that didn’t stop him from jumping after her like the hero she never had.

“Who are you?” Allen asked with eyes wide and curious like that of a newborn, and Road smiled while embracing him; this time she would raise him, and she would raise him right.

She opened the box carefully, expecting some kind of trap, but what she found inside was far from it.

She would always run before the fight ended, but not this time; there was no way he was going to let her get away with a kiss.
06 - Hurricane
He held her tightly in his arms as the thunder boomed and the lightning flashed, whispering soothing thoughts into her ear, and promises of the storm’s eventual end.

Road liked the many forms of Allen’s innocence, but when he started to sprout wings, she decided that his human form as her favorite.

It didn’t matter that her skin was cold to the touch, because Allen could always warm her heart.

Road had always loved the color red, until Allen showed up at the mansion covered in it.

Allen felt his face heat up after taking the first sip; he was never going to drink anything Road gave him again.

They always met at midnight, not because it was the only time to, but so they could enjoy the beginnings of a new day together.

He didn’t know the hazed looks or accidental brushes of skin weren’t that accidental until she kissed him, and when he didn’t pull away, she knew that her plan had worked.

Even when she wasn’t part of the fight, Road would always be watching Allen from her imaginary world.

She considered turning to the other side, if only to hear Allen play the piano once in her life.

Sometimes Road wondered if Allen should be the girl, since his hair was always smooth as silk.

Lenalee always covered for Allen on his nightly visits with Road, but she sometimes wished for an adventure of her own.

She held him in her arms, tears of pain and frustration falling down her face, “you promised me you would stay; so why did you have to go?”

Every night he wakes up, he wonders if the previous night was all a dream, then he sees the candles in the corners of his room, always there to comfort him in the dark.

He was always amused by how easily her candles were put out by a small kiss.

Sheryl never liked the kid, but he had to admit, Allen had talent to steal Road from right under his nose.

They found that the most important times of the day were not the ones filled with laughter or conversation, but rather of silence as they basked in the glory of each other.

“I’ll be fine,” he assured her before he left, but she followed him throughout his journey anyways.

He would always fear fire’s wrath, but this was one flame he could get used to.

He could have had all the strength in the world, but none of it mattered when he fell to his knees crying; this time they knew she wouldn’t be coming back.

It was all a façade, he knew, just another ploy to catch him off his guard, but he couldn’t help from blushing anyways.

He would never forget the day she showed up at headquarters in the middle of a blizzard, body all scratched up and colder than ice.

She never needed to worry about the time she would one day fall, for Road knew that Allen would always be there to catch her if she did.

The first time he had forgotten their anniversary, he received two broken ribs and a serious burn; Allen never forgot another important date ever again.

Sometimes Tyki wondered who Road always danced with at their balls, but he decided he’d rather not know.

It didn’t matter that his arm was disfigured or his eye cursed; he was still perfect in her eyes.

Allen would always remember the day she showed him her favorite-and most sacred-hiding place.

Tyki never liked how Road’s farewells with Allen were just as long and clingy as their hello’s.

Thinking about Tyki’s marriage, Road decides she needs to see Allen in a suit more often.

Allen sometimes wished he would get sick more often, because having Road there, tending to him day and night, was decidedly better than heaven.

Allen never found out why people found him so funny-it’s not like he acts stupid or anything-but he decides it doesn’t matter, since he didn’t need a reason to listen to Road’s laugh.
37 - Lies
Allen never told Road how his eye was that way, or what his relationship with Mana was, and she was okay with that; silence was always better than lies.
38 - Forever
“I’ll always be with you, forever,” he told her; Road wished she knew how long forever really was.
39 - Overwhelmed
When she opened the door and saw doves flying around, a beautiful cake, flowers everywhere, and the works, it took Road a few minutes to catch her breath before saying yes to the boy-no, man-kneeling in front of her.
40 - Whisper
He laid there in her arms, cold as stone and pulse slowly fading; she thought she heard a whisper before he died, or it might’ve just been the wind… but it sounded a lot like “I love you.”
41 - Wait
She pulled his arm and opened her mouth to speak, but one look in her eyes said it all… don’t leave me behind.
42 - Talk
Sometimes it was enough just to bask in each others’ presence, with some light conversation of course.
43 - Search
She had always been looking, but now that she had found him… what next?

Thought they were from two different sides, the shadow behind his eyes always gave her hope that they could be together.
45 - Eclipse
Everyone panicked when the moon turned red, but Road found that she couldn’t wait for the one eclipse, with Allen in her arms instead of the other way around.
46 - Gravity
She was impervious to the effects of gravity, but Road couldn’t help being attracted to him.
47 - Highway
Sometimes she wandered if Allen’s view of the world was really the right one…

Allen didn’t know why, but his face always seemed to get warm when Road was around.

She put a lock on her heart, but it seemed like he found the key.
