"Yeah, but can you cook?" Garet asked as their enemy disapeared in a whirl of wind.

The desert is wracked by freezing winds at night, and she wishes for him to appear magically at her side to relight the fire because she doesn't want to get out of her warm bed to do it herself.

It spreads, like a flower, over her white clothes and she suddenly regrets giving him a paint set for his birthday.

The alcohol burns as it goes down her throat, and she chokes as he begins to swear and rub her back.

She blurts out one night that her one fear is to be forgotten and sprawled over her he laughs and assures her that that'll never be the case.

"I look stupid in this" he grumbles, adjusting his bow-tie, in response she laughs and tugs on it, undoing it.

His fingers almost burn against her cold skin; she pushes them into her mouth to cool them down.

"So, how come it's extremely rude and discouraging to start giggling when you're undressing, but you can cackle all you want when I start to take my clothes off?"

"We should talk more" she says, stretched over his legs
"I dunno, I sort of thought we should up our sex quota instead" he answered and she threw a pillow at him in response.

"I feel like I was looking for something, and found it in you" He says one night as he tickles her toes with tips of his fingers.

Garet keeps it quiet, but before each battle he says a small prayer, hoping that she'll pull through without injury.

When he watches her summon the huge dragon with the Lemurian, he doesn't understand the sharp pangs he feels in his chest.
