50 Sentence Challenge: Captain Malcolm Reynolds and Dr. Simon Tam

1. Comfort: When River put the gun to her head, Simon heaved his own stomach against the wall and cried as Mal's arms encircled him, comforting him.

2. Kiss: Mal's harsh lips massaged Simon's softer ones, the captain's hands lifted the lighter man up, onto the table, still lip-locked; their breath came in heavy gasps and gulps as they quickly stripped off their burdensome clothing, aware a kiss led to much, much more.

3. Soft: "You're too soft, Doc," Mal told Simon as they lay in bed together, the captain's hand stroking Simon's thighs; "And I like that."

4. Pain: Mal felt the bullet rip through him, a shot of pain burning deep, exploding like a star, within his abdomen; and to think, there was no Doc messing underfoot to fix him up.

5. Potatoes: "It doesn't work without potatoes," Simon complained as he tried to prepare the stew for supper; "And I don't work without you," Malcolm said under his breath, making sure the Doc didn't hear it.

6. Rain: The rain of Miranda beat down upon them as Mal met Simon's eyes over the courtyard, their hair streaming down their faces; they didn't move from their places, letting the rain wash away the bad times, leaving only the good behind.

7. Chocolate: Having picked up some genuine chocolate syrup off of Arial the last time they were there, Mal dribbled the syrup into Simon's belly button, watching the Doc's head sweep back in ecstasy as Mal sucked it out.

8. Happiness: Mal knew he'd never be happy, but when he was with Simon, it felt gorram good to try.

9. Telephone: Simon had heard of those fancy telephone contraptions of the past where you could speak to someone and not see their face; now, as he watched the emotions wash over his former lover's, Mal's, face, he desperately wished for one.

10. Ears: Of all the features on a face, Mal thought, the ears were the funniest and most awkward; and Simon's ears were the most endearing feature about him.

11. Name: "Captain, this is Simon," Kaylee introduced the spiffy looking gentleman; Mal decided right then and there he didn't like the guy, that he never would.

12. Sensual: The way he fought, the fluidity of it, the fierceness of it, the utter power was exactly what Simon found so purely sensual about his Captain, Captain Malcolm Reynolds.

13. Death: Simon saw the blood dripping from Mal's abdominal wound and he felt the heat, the sorrow in his breast, sure his Captain was dead.

14. Sex: Mal strained inch further and further into the Doc's tight passage, feeling the straining, sweating man beneath him clasp his erection and stroke it; sex was the best, and Mal had to say, the dear old Doc was very, very good at it.

15. Touch: When Simon turned to leave Serenity in what might be forever, Mal wanted nothing more than to reach out and touch his shoulder; perhaps it might bring him back, he didn't know.

16. Weakness: The worry had never been so strong, not even for River; so, as Simon sewed up his lover for the umpteenth time, he discovered that the whining, petulant child of a man, Captain Malcolm Reynolds and ex-Browncoat Seargent, was his weakness.

17. Tears: As their bodies joined for the first time, their two forms became one, Simon couldn't help his smile as he saw the small tears balancing delicately on Mal's thick eyelashes.

18. Speed: When Mal balanced his new lover on the edge of his bunk, Simon pulled away and asked, "Aren't we going to fast?"; Mal replied, "Naw, this is the perfect speed for us," and Simon didn't question him again as Mal did things that made his eyes roll back in his head and his skin blush with embarrassment and pleasure.

19. Wind: The heavy breeze ruffling his hair made Mal's fingers twitch; it was touching what was his, and that pissed him off.

20. Freedom: Simon breathed in the free air as he climbed off Serenity for the final time, and when he turned to gaze one last time upon Mal, he started to wonder whether the freedom was worth losing his lover, whether he could bear to part with the man who could very well be the love of his life; it greatly disturbed him when he discovered the answer was an unequivical, resounding yes, because every man, no matter their past, needed freedom and fresh air in the end.

21. Life: Life hadn't been good to either of the men; comfort wasn't easy, so Mal and Simon just sat there, ignoring the way they itched to touch.

22. Jealousy: The wrench clanged into Jayne's jaw at a blinding speed, Mal breathing hard when he shot the iron into his man's mouth; "You stay away from him, you piece of go-sa," Mal threatened as his thoughts turned to the sweet Doctor at the hands of this buffoon; Jayne's hands weren't worthy to touch a wisp of hair on Simon's head much less his creamy white skin.

23. Hands: In public, they ignored each other; in private, Mal grasped the lily-white hands of his doctor and grinned.

24. Taste: When Mal trailed the tip of his warm tongue along Simon's throat, he tasted sweat, lavendar, vanilla, and the very essence of the Doctor; and it tasted so sweet that Mal didn't want to stop, didn't want to stop tasting him.

25. Devotion: As Mal snored beside him, Simon watched his lover sleep and vowed to never leave, to never walk off his boat because if he did, it meant walking away from Mal, and Simon couldn't handle it.

26. Forever: Simon knew he wasn't going to be alive tomorrow, but with Mal, it didn't seem so bad; with Mal, it seemed like he could live for eternity.

29. Melody: As he eased off to sleep, Mal flicked a few hairs behind Simon's ears, and sang a soft melodic lullaby he learned on Shadow.

30. Star: Simon's brown eyes glimmered like the stars off in space, and Mal knew he could get lost in them so easily.

31. Home: Osiris was a place to live for Simon, but here on Mal's boat was home; with the man he loved, anywhere could be home and he'd be happy because home was where the heart was, and Mal was Simon's heart; every bit of it was him and Simon loved him more for it.

32. Confusion: "You stupid son of a whore," Simon cried as he slugged Mal across the jaw, sending him careening off into the pile of junk and refuse; Mal fell to the floor of his boat, the puzzlement clearly written upon his face.

33. Fear: As Simon watched them go out on the Mule, he knew that River would be okay; he wasn't so sure about Mal, and that scared the daylights out of him.

34. Lightning/Thunder: Thunder and lightning were supposed to be scary, but here in space, where no weather anomalies could make you jump, Simon found himself more and more frightened of the attraction growing in the pit of his belly towards the stern, tight lipped captain of Serenity; it was a fear he couldn't quench, a fear that made him wish he had the thunder and lightning to distract him.

35. Bonds: Simon fought the silk ties with half a heart, and grinned broadly when the naked and gleaming Mal straddled him; the ties tightened slightly as his lover kissed a hot trail down his belly, towards his erection; and they tightened even further when Simon came into his partner, screaming the one name he'd ever wanted to know, Mal's.

36. Market: Walking through the stalls, seeing the goods and wares the townspeople sold to the tourists milling about the place, Simon picked up a long silver chain with a roaring lion pendant on the face and smiled; it was perfect for his own roaring lion named Malcolm.

37. Technology: Simon was in the infirmary, cursing his captain's name; the technology in this heap of shit was falling apart, to put it into better terms, and Simon was out for blood.

38. Gift: For their second anniversary (the anniversary of the first time Mal yelled at Simon), they exchanged gifts; for Mal, Simon gave him the silver necklace pendant which he put on immediately, and for Simon, Mal first gave him a new medical bag with brand new needles and first aid supplies, then as a real gift, gave him a pair of cufflinks inscribed with both of their initials; it was the sweetest gift that Simon had ever gotten.

39. Smile: Mal always thought that Simon's smile was a smile that could light up a room, and he was wrong; Simon's smile lit up the entire ship, if not the entire 'verse.

40. Innocence: When Simon winced the first time Mal entered him, the captain couldn't blame him; the Doc wasn't wise to the ways of man love.

41. Completion: Just as Mal climaxed into his partner, Simon spent himself over his hand; and for a split second, they were one, they were complete.

42. Clouds: "I wish there were clouds in space," Simon said, wishfully as he leaned against Mal's chest; "I wish there were naked gogo dancers, but we can't all have our way," Mal retaliated.

43. Sky: The sky in space was deep and black; Simon sighed with emptiness, seeing the neverending...'sky' before him, feeling as if he and Mal were the only two in the bottomless pit.

44. Heaven: When Mal first kissed Simon, he floated all the way up to Heaven.

45. Hell: When Mal sent him away, off his boat, he sank slowly but surely back into Hell.

46. Sun: In Simon's opinion, the sun's rays couldn't compare to Mal's very presence.

47. Moon: "Your skin is as pale as the moon," Mal remarked softly as he trailed his lips over Simon's calf; "And I bet I taste just like cheese," Simon snickered.

48. Waves: Days came in harsh or nice waves; when Mal was angry at the rest of the crew, the waves went didn't matter; but when Mal was angry with Simon, the waves were up close, personal, and battered the shores with all their might.

49. Hair: Mal watched Simon squirm as he cut his hair short, and to mess with him, he cut it even shorter.

50. Supernova: The first kiss was electrifying, the first time they made love was stunning, but the first time they lay together in one bed wasn't just good; it was like a supernova had burst within the ship and everything was destroyed but the two of them, like it was the way it was supposed to be.
