Pairing: Jack Spicer/Raimundo Pedrosa
Theme set: Gamma
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: The final episode, and In the Flesh, Days Past, and Citadel of Doom.
#01 - Ring
Jack is unsure of their relationship - mostly whether he’s anything more than a make-out partner - but when Raimundo subtly slips his trademark medallion into the redhead’s pocket during a showdown, Jack understands perfectly.
#02 - Hero
There were many reasons Raimundo considered Jack Spicer his hero, but first and foremost was that the boy never truly gave up.
#03 - Memory
Raimundo remembers the first time he saw Jack, a bumbling, wannabe-villain with a big mouth and bigger talk; when he giggles into his boyfriend’s shoulder, the other boy doesn’t even bother asking.
#04 - Box
Jack has always feared small spaces, and when he becomes trapped in the makeshift coffin, it takes his happiest thoughts of a football-playing Brazilian to keep him sane.
#05 - Run
No matter how much Jack seemed to run, Raimundo was always there to help him when he lost his breath--and Jack always wished he could hate him for it.
#06 - Hurricane
Raimundo had only ever lost his temper once, and the hurried declarations of don’t worry, we’ve already taken care of Jack, remember? only fed the storm.
#07 - Wings
When asked, the dragon states that controlling the wind is like having wings--only without the feathers and the feeling of being an angel.
#08 - Cold
They are stranded in a cave of sorts - lacking strength and technology - and when Rai finds a heavy trench coat on his shoulders after complaining of a chill, he almost thinks he can see Spicer blushing.
#09 - Red
Raimundo is often entranced by Jack’s hair--both its color and its softness.
#10 - Drink
Jack’s drinking a glass of water when Rai hastily claims thirst and kisses him; the redhead later states (quite flatly) that it was probably the worst pick-up line he’s ever heard.
#11 - Midnight
Under the cover of nightfall is when they meet, exchanging kisses and breathy vows with the midnight moon as their witness.
#12 - Temptation
Raimundo is silent as he gazes at his former-friends; when his olive eyes meet Spicer’s, he knows it wasn’t solely the temptation of power that brought him to Wuya’s side.
#13 - View
Although they’re miles apart, when one looks up at the stars at night, he knows the other boy is, too.
#14 - Music
“I don’t care if you think they’re ‘emo’ or not,” Jack snapped, “you are not throwing out my Linkin Park CD.”
#15 - Silk
Jack loves his boyfriend’s hands; they’re gentle and smooth as silk, and so much better than his calloused, constantly-tinkering ones.
#16 - Cover
There were times when Jack would pad into his bedroom, curl up on his bed, and just breathe in the scent of the wind dragon on his blankets; it gave him hope.
#17 - Promise
Secretly, they both prayed that this time - this time - it would be more than broken promises and meaningless words.
#18 - Dream
The first time Raimundo dreams of brilliant red hair and pale features, he puts it out of his mind; by the fifth time, it’s all he can think of.
#19 - Candle
“Light a candle for the sinners,” Jack murmurs into the other boy’s ear as they collapse against each other, panting.
#20 - Talent
Raimundo is always amazed at Jack’s ability to make something out of nothing--but he doesn’t complain, because that’s exactly how their relationship began.
#21 - Silence
Jack is silent as he is defeated by the Xiaolin dragons once more, but his eyes are full of whys for the lone boy frowning at him from across the battlefield.
#22 - Journey
Jack has only been flying with Raimundo once--if not for the fact that he found out just how easily he can become air-sick, he’d gladly go again.
#23 - Fire
When Kimiko followed Raimundo one night as he snuck out of the temple, her element was nothing compared to her rage.
#24 - Strength
It takes strength to win, and that’s something I don’t have, is Jack’s murmured mantra, but Rai just shakes his head and breaks the chant with, It takes far more strength to fall down and get back up.
#25 - Mask
Raimundo once commented on Jack’s make-up, saying that combined with his pale skin and vibrant gaze, it reminded him of a mask; Jack responded by flashing a grin, his eyes wary, and saying, “If you like the mask, I bet you’d love what’s behind it.”
#26 - Ice
Jack is appalled when he sees Raimundo contently crunching down on ice cubes from his drink, but the dragon smoothly replies, “I need some way to keep cool around someone so hot, right?”
#27 - Fall
As cliché as it sounds, Raimundo has always been there to help Jack up when he’s fallen down--even those times when Jack has tripped on purpose.
#28 - Forgotten
One of Raimundo’s greatest fears is being remembered badly - as the worthless kid that dragged the Xiaolin dragons down, as the runaway circus performer who just couldn’t nail that double back flip - but with Jack, he knows all his faults are forgotten.
#29 - Dance
When Raimundo became leader of the Xiaolin dragons, Jack knew; even so, he let the other boy take him into his arms and waltz them around the room as he recounted every moment.
#30 - Body
The contours of their bodies always fit together seamlessly--tanned and porcelain white, muscled and underlying strength.
#31 - Sacred
The privacy of their conversations and time together is always scared, and this is why it pains Raimundo greatly when he learns of a seemingly perfect plan to take down the other dragons.
#32 - Farewells
The goodbyes take the longest, because for all they know, it’s their last one.
#33 - World
Jack thought Raimundo was just being overly-romantic when he said he’d give him the world--until Rai snuck out the golden tiger claws and took them to his beautiful hometown of Rio.
#34 - Formal
It takes Jack telling him how amazing he looks before Raimundo can get used to the awkward formality of the robes he now wears as Shoku warrior.
#35 - Fever
Jack learned the hard way that instead of his boyfriend getting fevers, his body began churning out excess amounts of power in an attempt to rid itself of the virus; he spent the night by the other boy’s side, wrapped heavily in blankets to ward off the roiling winds.
#36 - Laugh
“Darnit, Jack, everyone has off days, and it’s not that funny!”
#37 - Lies
Between the two, they’ve broken so many promises and built so many lies that they don’t bother accusing each other anymore.
#38 - Forever
It’s not easy to define the word ‘forever,’ but to them, it’s how long their love will last--and they know it’s never going to end.
#39 - Overwhelmed
Jack was so overwhelmed by their first kiss that afterward he went silently into his lair and didn’t emerge for three days.
#40 - Whisper
“Love ya, Spicer,” Raimundo whispers just before he ducks away and aims a sweeping kick for the other boy’s legs; by the playful glint in Jack’s eyes as he gets to his feet, the Brazilian knows that he was heard.
#41 - Wait
Jack doesn’t care how long he has to wait for Raimundo to notice him, because he knows that it’s worth second.
#42 - Talk
Some nights they use all their time talking and simply reveling in the sound of the other boy’s voice.
#43 - Search
Jack frantically searches the dragon’s eyes for any hint of care or remorse--and closes his own eyes in defeat as Raimundo roars, “Typhoon Boom!”
#44 - Hope
It’s been hours since Raimundo left and he’s still hoping with all he has that this isn’t the end.
#45 - Eclipse
Wuya believes they can use the upcoming eclipse to their advantage, and forbids Jack to say anything to anyone; so instead he leaves a written note somewhere Raimundo can find it.
#46 - Gravity
Raimundo’s able to take away the gravity that holds him down to earth lets him just forget, and Jack loves that about him.
#47- Highway
Raimundo sometimes looks at Jack as a highway: constantly tread on, yet still able to take you somewhere better.
#48 - Unknown
Raimundo didn’t know how the blooming white rose ended up next to his bed, or who sent it, but he had a feeling he liked them already.
#49 - Lock
“Fine, Jack, but be warned: you wear that, and I’m keeping you under lock and key.”
#50 - Breathe
Soft sunlight filters into the formerly dark room, and Raimundo, propped up lazily on an elbow, uses it to watch the steady rises and falls of Jack’s pale chest.
