Twilight

Fandom: Twilight (a book by Stephenie Meyer)
Pairing: Edward Cullen/Bella Swan
Theme set: Delta
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Long story short? Twilight = book about a vampire falling in love with a human. I know, I know, it sounds HORRIBLY cliched, but it really isn't. For a more detailed description, see here. (Alas, it's f-locked. Still, you should join anyway, it's a great comm.) Also, for those who are aware what Twilight is, let me tell you now there are slight spoilers for the first chapter of New Moon (which is up at S. Meyer's site).

01 - Air

When Edward flings her on his back and runs-soars-through the forest Bella doesn’t feel the air, she is the air, and it makes her amazed and sick at the same time.

02 - Apples

Bella reads the Bible one day when she’s feeling too restless to do anything else (because maybe reading the Bible will calm her of being desperately in love with a vampire), and she gets to the part in Genesis about apples and the snake and temptation and she can’t read any further.

03 - Beginning

On the ride home (in Edward’s ‘special-occasion’ car), Bella’s mind repeats the same thing over and over again, like an eternally broken record: this is the beginning the beginning the beginning of everything.

04 - Bugs

Edward doesn’t kill bugs, he mutilates them and crushes them to bloody oblivion and Bella is reminded, for the fifty-millionth time that he’s not human (and she doesn’t care).

05 - Coffee

Bella’s mouth tastes like coffee, and she vaguely wonders how coffee and freesia go together.

06 - Dark

“To crawl inside my mind, to see what I see, to feel what I feel when I’m-hungry-” says Edward menacingly, “is to put yourself ultimately at death.”

07 - Despair

Bella should be feeling like nothing is ever going to go right again, but in his cold arms everything, everything, everything feels right.

08 - Doors

Inside his room she looks only through his gigantic collection of CDs, in Carlisle’s office nothing but the pictures, and with Alice they do nothing but talk but every single time she feels Rosalie’s eyes on her through the solid wood of every door she’s behind.

09 - Drink

Edward is not in school.

10 - Duty

When she gets home, Bella makes dinner, does the obligatory ‘how-was-school’ routine with her father, washes the dishes, has her human moment-and when she goes upstairs something laughs, something she can’t see, and she knows she’s done with her day.

11 - Earth

“If I buried you under the ground, would you still glitter in the sunlight?”

12 - End

If I was a vampire, she thinks wistfully as he kisses her, I’d never grow old.

13 - Fall

Alice says becoming a vampire is like Falling-when angels turn into demons-and doesn’t know what to believe then, because all of her vampires definitely aren’t (not seriously, at least) demons but she knows the ones like that do exist, oh yes, she knows this very well.

14 - Fire

What she sees in his eyes Bella can’t place: it’s something blazing and fierce, heady and musky, and she definitely knows what she wants to say what it is, but Edward isn’t going to agree.

15 - Flexible

He was just outside, and now he’s on her bed…

16 - Flying

“All you have to do is close your eyes, Bella.”

17 - Food

She knows he likes to remind her that he is wise to the ways of the human, that he knows she needs nutrition, too (except not the same way he does), so he reminds her of breakfast lunch dinner and even in-between snacks and he’s even trying to learn to cook himself, even though taste to him isn’t anything more than a word, because vampires are only born with one taste bud: blood.

18 - Foot

You have the cutest toes in all of Forks, he says, playing This Little Piggy with her left foot, and it is most definitely a moment to be captured and shared with the rest of his family, and Bella wonders: if she videotaped this, would Edward show up on film?

19 - Grave

“Where are your parents buried?” asks Bella one night, and Edward mentions Chicago and upturned graves and the word diggers, and his eyes flash black.

20 - Green

Welcome to Forks! reads the sign, and all Bella can think is the land of the green green green.

21 - Head

The first time Bella walked past Edward in the hallway he wanted to sink his teeth into that pretty little head of hers, taste that freesia growing on the inside of her skull.

22 - Hollow

And when Edward crushed Bella to him it wasn’t the same because his eyes were so deep dark black empty and all she wanted to do was crawl inside of them and be safe.

23 - Honor

Edward can dutifully say otherwise, but Bella knows Rosalie hates her.

24 - Hope

He pressed his lips to her bleeding hand and sucked and that burning sensation ripped through her, poison coursing through her innocent veins (vampire poison) and she knew she was going to die without him-he was going to cure her, wasn’t he, wasn’t he?

25 - Light

She thought she was in heaven, thinking even he couldn't do it-but it was the ceiling lights, harsh against her eyelids, and then she knew he did.

26 - Lost

Bella has staring contests with Edward, but she already knows where she stands on all of them.

27 - Metal

The sight of blood makes her sick, but the smell makes her sicker: a tangy aroma of copper and salt that makes her head spin, makes her body say what’s that doing outside, it’s supposed to be in here and after that Bella doesn’t want to think about it anymore.

28 - New

“Is it like, oh, say…reincarnation?”

29 - Old

“No, because you always remember what happened before, and maybe that’s the horrible part.”

30 - Peace

Every time he kisses her, it’s an implosion of the world inside her small brain-every single damn time, and on each and every occasion she wants to throw his head back and devour him but he says stop, Bella, stop, and it’s why she thinks her body is never, ever, ever going to be at a complete standstill.

31 - Poison

Edward says humans have it easy, but Bella knows taking a vial of poison and throwing it back isn’t going to make her forget him, even if she is completely, utterly, and unconditionally dead.

32 - Pretty

Bella sleeps at night, and Edward watches, watches, watches.

33 - Rain

She wonders if his tears (if any) would chill her as much as the downpour.

34 - Regret

He keeps a safe distance from her needy, lunging kisses (which he secretly longs for on the inside), because giving into them could result in something very, very dangerous.

35 - Roses

She finds a dozen on her bedspread on the eve of Valentine’s Day, arranged in a cross (very funny, she thinks) and all a mocking bright crimson color that makes her head throb.

36 - Secret

“Bitten by a radioactive spider,” she guesses (seriously), and he thinks, oh, she’s getting very close.

37 - Snakes

In Genesis, if Bella can remember correctly, the serpent offered the apple to Eve…no, not offered-seduced her with his loophole-no, that is definitely not the case: he took her in with his beauty.

38 - Snow

It snows five feet of pure white and she is deathly afraid to let him outside.

39 - Solid

Bella is shocked, amazed-appalled-at the image of her grandmother and she reaches out to flutter her fingers through what is surely heavenly haze, and instead collides with the mirror.

40 - Spring

Edward can sense her hay fever even before the first sneeze.

41 - Stable

“Can you make it?” he asks her, and one look at him and her mind screams what do you think?

42 - Strange

“Those are the Cullens-they’re a little…different.”

43 - Summer

Edward locks himself in his room for a whole week and Bella curses the sun with all her vampire-ridden heart.

44 - Taboo

He tells her things-about himself-in private.

45 - Ugly

“This is what I am,” he says, the image of bloodlust evident somewhere in his tone, and she frightfully whispers never.

46 - War

Bella remembers ages ago when she played Battleship with her cousins: they’d be on one side and she’d be on the other, and technically they were all the same thing, just with different ambitious paths-and looking at James and Edward now she also remembers her losing the godawful game every single time.

47 - Water

“My boyfriend glitters in the sun-naturally, he’d be almost transparent in water…am I right, Edward-Edward, I’m just kidding-stop looking so shocked.”

48 - Welcome

She walks into his arms and it’s Hello, Isabella Swan, welcome to the City of Limits, please keep all notions of extreme physical intimacy all under control all over again.

49 - Winter

He marvels at how well adjusted she is to the colder climate; wonders if this, somehow, has something to do with him.

50 - Wood

“You might hit a tree!” she panics, and he smirks and pulls her through the woods (and life) over and over and over again.
