Jun 01, 2006 00:35

Fandom: Warcraft III
Pairing: Thrall x Grom Hellscream
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: R to be safe
Disclaimer: I don't own them at all. I wish I did, though.

There will be spoilers, but if you aren't going to play the game, go ahead.

01. Comfort: After the battle, Grom doesn’t want any help with his wounds but Thrall won’t leave him alone.

02. Kiss: It comes as a surprise and several Grunts stop and stare, forgetting the battle just for a second.

03. Soft: Nothing about the two is soft, except for their hair, and only sometimes.

04. Pain: The undead attack and an arrow hits him and he wonders if the wound should hurt.

05. Potatoes: “I refuse to eat this for lunch again.” He protests around bites, and Thrall can’t help but snicker at the sight and offer another helping.

06. Rain: When Grom died, the rain hid his tears but Grom could see them anyway.

07. Chocolate: They don’t know what it is, but the shamans assure them that it’s harmless so it’s okay to eat it.

08. Happiness: “I think happiness is seeing the battle won.” He says, but Thrall shakes his head and says “It’s being here with you.”

09. Telephone: The shaman assures them that it works, but after several warriors accidentally break it, Grom tells Thrall to give up on the device.

10. Ears: “They aren’t like elven ears, so stop pondering and get back to what you were doing.”

11. Name: “Just because I’m Warchief doesn’t mean you have to call me that - I’m still Thrall to you.”

12. Sensual: Every time Grom gets lost in the heat of the battle, Thrall has to force himself not to stop and stare - he’s just too violent and graceful at the same time.

13. Death: They live surrounded by death and they fight to see another day, not to stop it, but when Grom dies, Thrall almost swears to peace, only to remember who he is and what he’s obligated to do.

14. Sex: It’s rough and good and it never lasts long enough but Thrall could never hold Grom down for long.

15. Touch: They never really touch each other: It’s all talking and action, but Thrall will sometimes spend the early morning hours exploring skin and Grom wakes to fingerprints on his hands that aren’t his.

16. Weakness: He knows that Grom is taunting him, and there must be a reason for the betrayal, but right now he’s too angry to do anything but throw love and reason to the wind and attack.

17. Tears: When Thrall returned to camp with Grom’s body in his arms, everyone tried to ignore the tears that shouldn’t have been in his eyes.

18. Speed: He was a blur on the battlefield and in life and Thrall wished that he would slow down sometimes; so he did.

19. Wind: The wind whistled around them, and Thrall looked at Grom and understood what his fate was; Then the demon appeared and Thrall realized that it was too late.

20. Freedom: Grom was free at last, but he wasn’t sure the price was worth it as Thrall cried over him.

21. Life: Life was a bitter, bitter thing and Thrall knew it was too fragile to keep going, but then Grom would look up at him and everything would be okay, despite the deaths he had caused.

22. Jealousy: “Just because you think I polish my battle-axe too much doesn’t mean I’m going to stop; And stop giving me that look, it’s not going to change my mind.”

23. Hands: If an orc was born without hands, they were killed; the day Thrall learned of this, he ordered the Horde to stop the practice, despite many protests.

24. Taste: The daily meals became a necessary evil that only became interesting when something new came along, or when Grom started a food fight, (usually with Thrall.)

25. Devotion: The Horde is devoted to the Warchief, but every now and then Thrall must prove himself, so when they left for the lands across the ocean he carefully decorated the ships with the human’s skulls despite his own aversion to the spectacle; afterwards he had a long talk with Grom about morals and left on the trip feeling much better.

26. Forever: When Thrall first started his journey to free the orcs from the humans, he thought it would take forever to even begin, but then he found some free orcs, Grom, and an old orc Warchief and things started looking up.

27. Blood: Blood was everywhere, coating the grass, the trees, and still the humans kept coming in droves, but Thrall covered Grom’s back and they kept fighting.

28. Sickness: Orcs don’t get sick, and if they did, it was usually fatal, so when Grom caught a cold, Thrall worried and forced him to rest.

29. Melody: The human was singing a song when Grom killed him, and he couldn’t get it out of his head for the rest of the day so he asked Thrall to join his clan for a War Chant.

30. Star: Stars stand for the lost Draenor that Grom lost all those years ago, and it is this he is thinking of when Thrall orders him to the forests.

31. Home: Thrall’s never seen Draenor, so Grom spends nights telling him about their ancestral home in the flickering firelight and the embers are low before they even get near the bedrolls.

32. Confusion: Battles are all about how well you can control the inevitable confusion they bring, so Thrall gathers the clan chiefs and they puzzle out everything in advance, but sometimes it all comes down to Grom performing his famous scream to keep the orcs focused.

33. Fear: Grom feels fear all the time and fights to control it all the time but when it gets really bad he goes to Thrall but the night before he died he was overwhelmed with it and there was no one to go to.

34. Lightening/Thunder: Thrall feels the heavy hammer in his hand again and marvels at the power contained within that he alone can summon and these thoughts always lead to a fireside talk with Grom about the Warchief that trained Thrall.

35. Bonds: There are bonds of rope and chain, but the ones Thrall fears the most are the ones of blood that hold his people in slavery to the demons; he almost lost everything when he learned about Grom’s agreement with the demons before reason came back.

36. Market: Thrall decided that Goblins were a pain to work with and decided to ask Grom why the Horde had used them in the second war.

37. Technology: Thrall’s decision to ask Grom about the Goblins was quickly changed when they flew - flew!- back to camp effortlessly.

38. Gift: That decision to not ask Grom about the Goblins was changed again when they asked if they could borrow a few Grunts for experiments as payment and they would return them with better weapons and a few ‘upgrades’ as a gift to the Horde.

39. Smile: Thrall decided he didn’t trust the Goblin’s smiles at all and told them no - go try the Warsong clan if they needed test subjects that badly.

40. Innocence: Thrall sighed as he heard the Goblins disgruntled mutters as they returned to the Zeppelins and decided to ask Grom what the hell the Horde had been thinking when they hired the Goblins but then he realized that the Horde probably hadn’t listened too closely to common sense when they hired them.

41. Completion: When Thrall finally got a chance to ask Grom, Grom muttered something about it being an accident and besides, he protested, weren’t the Goblins good with mechanical stuff?

42. Clouds: Three Infernals later, Thrall swore off cloud watching forever and vowed to murder the shaman that had called these demons down.

43. Sky: When the skies opened up and began to rain Infernal Demons, Thrall could swear that he could hear someone saying “And a 100 percent chance of Demonic Showers today with a 20 percent chance of rain.”

44. Heaven: Later, much later, when Thrall laid with Jaina, he realized that she was not heaven, she was not Grom, and he was not content.

45. Hell: Earlier, before Kalimdor, Thrall knew he was nowhere near hell, and as long as he had Grom, he would never, ever be in hell.

46. Sun: After being trapped in the Oracle’s caves for countless nights, the first touch of sunlight was a blessing and Jaina actually turned and smiled at him but his thoughts were on Grom.

47. Moon: The moon was bright the night Thrall first found Grom, and if not for it’s light, Grom’s sentries would have killed him.

48. Waves: The sea swirled around the ship, and for the first time, Thrall had misgivings about going to Kalimdor.

49. Hair: Thrall once asked Grom why he did not cut his long hair, and Grom simply responded by removing the hair tie.

50. Supernova: When Mannoroth died, he exploded with an inrushing or air and sound and his last actions were to kill Grom and Thrall decided that he wanted the demon to live again so he could kill him for killing Grom.
