and_zeroDisclaimer: I don't own Chaos Legion.
.Comfort: Never one for living easy, Sieg feared there was little he could give Arcia but silent companionship and a fireside each night; he didn’t realize just how much she needed those very things.
.Kiss: Sieg had woken up in the middle of the night from a dream once, breathing hard and sweating, refusing to explain what was the matter, but in the days to follow he often caught himself staring at her lips.
.Soft: After the first chilling night Sieg had given her his cape to keep warm, and she then realized that no matter how many times he may have bleached away the bloodstains, Sieg had never starched it.
.Pain: They had both wrapped countless bandages before, but neither of them had ever found a gauze that could heal the grievous chips in their shoulders.
.Potatoes: Sieg wasn’t used to the delicate cooking of a woman, but she had insisted on being the chef after eating the potatoes raw the first night.
.Rain: Sieg and Arcia never got along when it rained; Sieg, melancholy and reminded, and Arcia smiling if only because in the rain nothing was on fire.
.Chocolate: Sieg’s arms, no matter how dark they were with bruises and abuse, with burns, gashes, and damage, Arcia still thought they smelled nice when he held her, and she wished she could taste his skin.
.Happiness: “Chaos… the be all and the end all, the life and the death; everything born out of it shall return to it,” Sieg said, his voice as happy as he seemed able to get.
.Telephone: He has some things he needs to say, but will never be able to say them to her face, much for the same reason that even though he never knew the father, Sieg always chose to confess his sins behind a screen.
.Ears: If hormones were frequencies, each creature in the woods that night would have cried out in pain.
.Name: When she met the man named after “Victory” and “Truth,” Arcia knew that she should stay with him, though the number one priority to stay in this world was nearly neglected.
.Sensual: Half awake and too dark to see, she could have sworn there had been gentle finger tips at the nape of her neck, a rough palm at the small of her back, hot breath falling over her ear; tired thoughts can't concentrate and if it was Sieg she hoped he'd do it again anyway.
.Death: Arcia had been surprised to learn that Sieg had never drank, but when she mentioned it he said that he both respected and expected death too much and too often to further taunt the reaper.
.Sex: There had been nights that had made their palms sweat from lust and their bodies ache from desire, but out of courtesy they always slept facing the other direction, so they never knew.
.Touch: Her smile was to him like the Midas Touch, only not imbued with the power to turn all to gold, but rather, with the power to turn all of his memories blank.
.Weakness: She would never tell him that he had become her hero, just as he would never admit that she was his kryptonite.
.Tears: When he watched her cry he was reminded of himself three years before-- when he watched her cry he wanted to put his arms around her.
.Speed: In the race against Delacroix for the glyphs, Sieg was put at a disadvantage by letting a girl tag along, like running with a broken leg, but in the end she was what saved him; there was no reward for Delacroix anyway.
.Wind: Arcia could feel herself gradually like a spring winding and coiling, tighter and tighter, pressure always building from the inside.
.Freedom: He had problems, she knew, and he didn’t need her help to win his freedom from the past, but she got the vague feeling that he wanted her around to see it.
.Life: When she lost her brother she knew her life could never be anything the same again, and learning from experience, she found she must cling to Sieg, afraid of what she might lose this time.
.Jealousy: In the Hall of Chaos the report of the shot rang for an eternity, with each echo making Sieg more jealous of the bullet that would always be in her heart.
.Hands: Arcia was always attentive to how Sieg moved his hands, because when she was alone she could pretend her hands were his.
.Taste: For Sieg it was a new feeling, wanting to taste the inside of a girl’s mouth.
.Devotion: She had lost faith in him and run blindly away, at the mercy of the creatures of the night, and yet through the darkness he had managed to follow her, worrying and fearing for her safety, confused at why she had gone.
.Forever: Forever is a time much too long for Sieg to ever comprehend, but he imagined it might be nearly as long as he had stood holding his breath, as long as he had wathced her bleed.
.Blood: Arcia had kissed Sieg once, briefly, shyly, while he was sleeping, but she learned that he always had blood on his lips, and that she liked the way it tasted.
.Sickness: “We’ll rest for today, Arcia, until you’re feeling better; Delacroix… don't worry, we’ll catch up with him tomorrow.”
.Melody: When they got to talking self she said that she liked the violin and the cello, he said that he appreciated a certain requiem, but she didn’t quite understand what he meant.
.Star: She had lost all she had known, her life had flipped upside down like the opposite side of a coin, but she took comfort in that when she looked up at least her stars still remained.
.Home: “Now that it’s done, if you have nowhere to go… you can come with me…”
.Confusion: Their pasts were two confused tales of grief and violence, set in gothic churches and deadened city streets, with endings somehow closely interwoven.
.Fear: Arcia tried to get to know Sieg to the point that she could learn his fears, and it bewildered her when she pieced the truth together, that his death never frightened him, but to him hers was terrifying.
.Lightning: It had only started as a supportive embrace, both of them too close to tears, but Arcia forgot to breathe she was so jolted, when Sieg bent down and gently captured her lips.
.Bonds: On the outside they were a shy couple, never once guilty of public displays of affection, and occasionally still embarrassed when their eyes met climbing into the same bed-- but they both remembered well the night they had actually whipped out the handcuffs.
.Market: For two people who had lost everything, what was important wasn’t what their money could buy them, but rather, the things money couldn’t buy.
.Technology: Sieg had a few “tools” to help him solve his problems, the first of which being a sword, the next seven being legions-- so far he had yet to find a better way of going about things, modern technology or not.
.Gift: All that Sieg hadn’t been able to give her while on their hunt for Delacroix he gave to her two years later; nine months after that she gave it back for them to share.
.Smile: She had silently promised to stay with him, but Arcia’s life with Sieg was hard in the beginning; their first year was cold and dark, and it was still hard for him to smile.
.Innocence: Sieg was haunted by the thought that as an elite knight for the Order he had one thing, and one thing only, in common with that innocent little boy who brought home a helpless little kitten: he already knows the answer, but is too hopeful to not ask, “Can I keep her?”
.Completion: The day Sieg smiled, Arcia got a feeling of acomplishment, though it took her quite a while to realize it was because she had finally at long last 'fixed' him.
.Clouds: What drew them together had been their mutual loss and their sorrowful loneliness; even on a sunny day they both saw cloudy skies.
.Sky: His past was an irrelievable burden, tying him to the rock bottom, against the Earth, while his sins and regrets mounted infinitely above him on his shoulders.
.Heaven: Sieg thought, as he watched her be killed, that he would rather die than keep fighting, but then he realized he wouldn’t be meeting her again in heaven anyway, so he took his revenge instead.
.Hell: Her family had been slaughtered, her home had been torched, and her life had been shattered, but even though she felt there was nothing keeping her going but a need for revenge, when she met a man named after victory she was almost lifted out of her hell.
.Sun: Sieg had just begun to notice little details-- how the birds were always chirping or the Sun was always shining --but then he lost too much, and stopped noticing when his Sun stopped shining for him.
.Moon: The moon is a woman; she floats in among the stars one night, becomes the brightest light in a man’s sky, and then sinks away again; the only difference for Sieg was that Arcia disappeared forever, luckily only for a moment.
.Waves: For each hoard of monsters Sieg fought each day Arcia spent another hour that night treating his wounds; she had come to be able to tell how many waves of attack he’d withstood by how many times each gash had been re-torn open.
.Hair: Arcia had watched the cut strands of hair slip through her fingers on the wind, and it was through this scattering of the pieces of who she had used to be that she truly noticed the man that had saved her.
.Supernova: There had only ever been three supernovas visible from Earth in recorded history, and when the fourth came it found Sieg and Arcia together below it, staring towards the brightened night sky, in the most romantic mood either of them could ever imagine.
~Yeah, I don't like her either, but I do still ship the pairing, so.
