01 - Ring She had grown fond of their talks, but William’s wedding ring was a constant reminder to her that he hadn’t let go of his past.
02 - Hero Even in the hard times, she saw Adama as a true hero, someone who does the right thing, no matter what the cost.
03 - Memory As Adama watched the cancer eat away her life, he prayed to the Gods that her memories would stay.
04 - Box She surveyed his room as she turned the cold glass in her hand - pictures of his family, an original master art piece, a box of cigars on his desk - the whole room was so warm, unlike the cold belly of the Galactica.
05 - Run “You’re not the run of the mill, are you Commander Adama?” Laura said, cocking her head to one side.
06 - Hurricane In a tough situation, Adama’s prowess was like a hurricane, completely encompassing and impossible to steer away from, one thing Laura always admired about his ability to lead the fleet.
07 - Wings As they danced, Laura ran her fingers over the cool metal of his flight wings, trailing the shape as it joined against the folds of the polyester material.
08 - Cold Adama knew it was cold of him to throw Laura into the brig, but she had committed mutiny, and he wouldn’t back down against the school teacher.
09 - Red Adama smiled into his drink as he watched Laura over the rim of the glass, her red hair catching the soft light from the lamp next to her.
10 - Drink His choice of drink was strong, not as intoxicating as ambrosia, but still delicious nonetheless.
11 - Midnight It was nearing midnight on the fourth day of the FTL jumps, and Laura was beginning to think there was no hope.
12 - Temptation Just being around the Madam President was temptation enough for him, but as a man who had a duty, he would do nothing except be there for her.
13 - View The view from Cloud 9 almost seemed real, but to Adama, the real beauty was the way Laura handled herself amongst the chaos of the elections.
14 - Music On the days when stress was too much to handle, Adama locked his quarters and simply listened to opera - it soothed his soul and always made him think of Laura.
15 - Silk “What?’ aksed Laura, straightening out her silk blouse, but all Adama could do was smile and simply say “You look fine.”
16 - Cover Laura could only sit sympathetically as Bill covered his eyes with his palm - he looked so tired.
17 - Promise “Promise me that you’ll come through this,” Adama said as he enclosed her hand with both of his.
18 - Dream “I had a dream about you, Bill,” said Laura, stirring her tea.
19 - Candle Time growing short for her, and right before his eyes, Laura’s life was slipping away, like a candle slowly extinguishing itself, engulfed by its own
20 - Talent “I didn't realize you were so talented,” said Adama, commenting on her most recent negotiations.
21 - Silence There was a calm atmosphere in the silence between them, unspoken words were understood and just looking into each others eyes was a clear statement.
22 - Journey It had been a long journey battling the cancer without any real defense, and she just wanted to let go, but Bill’s voice kept calling her back - “Stay with me, stay…”
23 - Fire “Do you know what this needs?” asked Laura, taking a small sip from her tea, “A fireplace, then it would be perfect.”
24 - Strength “I don’t know if I have the strength anymore,” Bill confessed to Laura, catching her off guard.
25 - Mask It was cold that night on Cobalt, and the fog masked their way to the trail.
26 - Ice “It’s been a while since I’ve had ice,” Bill said, placing three cubes into her drink.
27 - Fall “It would be fall on Caprica by now,” Laura commented one day, looking out in a daze.
28 - Forgotten Laura placed her hand on his - “I haven’t forgotten about my son, my wife, everything that was lost,” Bill said with seriousness in his tone.
29 - Dance It was a slow dance at the Vice-President’s inauguration ball, slow enough to make them forget about the war, the Cylons, and the fact that things would change after this.
30 - Body Her body was frail now, and all he wanted to do was simply hold her and make it all go away.
31 - Sacred It had been quite an adventure, but the sacred place they thought was Cobalt lead them to a dead end.
32 - Farewells “I won’t say it,” said Bill, refusing to give her a proper farewell.
33 - World “This world was not a paradise,” said Laura, surveying Cobalt.
34 - Formal Laura smiled to herself as Adama fidgeted in his formal uniform - even though he’d been in a military uniform his entire life, he hated these functions.
35 - Fever Her fever was growing worse as the cancer began its final descent.
36 - Laugh “I always used to get the giggles before debate team, and now it’s happening again,” said Laura, unable to hold herself back any longer.
37 - Lies “You know I hate lying to her about the child, but it’s for the best,” said Laura; all Adama could do was respond, “I know, you made a smart decision.”
38 - Forever “She was my wife…and I pledged to her forever, no matter what happens,” Adama confessed one night after a silent drink.
39 - Overwhelmed It had to be overwhelming for her, to be suddenly in command of the entire civilian fleet.
40 - Whisper “Don’t worry,” Adama whispered into her ear, bringing her in for a close embrace.
