Typical Tuesday!
I'm staying inside! I thought of going up to get groceries but then decided it was too much trouble. It has been 8 above at night for the past week almost and it is hard to keep this old house warm. Yes, that's it in the picture--probably built in the early 1930's. It has three cupboards above the sink/kitchen window--above the two very normal cupboards--that open out and up and are very short in height and longish. I have never seen a house with such cupboards and one would have to be sideshow freak tall to get in them without using a ladder. What were the builders thinking? Opening the lower cupboards below these gives a blast of cold air.
The hard stay cat I feed is crying on the porch. It's very cold. I put a box out there with a blanket but he would have no part of it. I brought him in early last year and kept him in the spare bedroom and he yelled for a week and sprayed all over everything (not neutered). When I let him outside in frustration he left and stayed away for 5 months. I'm wondering if he is someones barn cat that has figured I'm a soft touch for food. Cats are amazingly disloyal and will eat or crash anywhere where they get the best stuff. Anyway, I feel sorry for him but my 5 cats would not tolerate him at all, especially my 2 toms--though neutered would like a good fight. So I can only feed him and hope he's as tough as he looks. He's pretty fat. Can't wait for winter to be over. This is the first winter that I have been here that there are no magpies and no mice in the ceiling.
