Petrelli Campaign Headquarters, Sunday late afternoon

Nathan was scheduled to give a speech accepting his Congressional win. He wondered how many of his fellow Congressmen had to deal with the possibility of their cities being blown up when they took office.

Well okay, probably more than one but even still.

Angela brushed her hand over Nathan's shoulders, getting rid of any bits of lint. "This has been a long time coming. It's a shame your father isn't here to see you become the leader you were born to be."

"Do you think Pop would've liked the part where I get the job thanks to my own brother's death?" Nathan asked, even though he suspected the answer.

"Thanks to his time in Fandom, Peter will heal," Angela reminded him, as though this were merely a minor detail. "He'll survive."

Nathan didn't think forcing Peter to live in a world where he was personally responsible for the death of half the city could really be called 'surviving' but he also didn't think that their mother cared about such nuances. "Guess that's everything settled then, huh?"

Angela stepped back and gestured towards where the stage and podium had been set up for Nathan to make his speech. "All that's left is for you to do your part."

"Exactly," Nathan replied.
