so i joined a new club, cost a lot but i was able to get a minor discount for being a student - BONUS
...knew that college education would come in handy
so, i got up before the buttcrack of dawn at 4:21 to pick up two new friends, for car pooling I got an extra $10 credit a head, we got on the road headed to Whitewater Wisconsin to go hang gliding wooo weeeee. I called the place at 4:40 to make sure weather wasn't going to shut us down since yahoo had declared scattered thunderstorms for the area. At 5:30 we were on our way, supposed to be there at 7:15 but an accident and direction snafu got us there at 8.
Strong winds cancelled hang gliding so our group of 14 people went to breakfast, where I had a might rib-eye and eggs. We were a bit crestfallen when a couple members of the group suggested going to Lake Geneva which was about 26 miles away, on our way home.
Off we went and while I did not go hang gliding, something which I've never done, I did do something else for the very first time. We rented wave runners and had a blast. I don't know what the difference is between a wave runner and a jet ski, probably sitting versus standing but I had a blast, a huge blast with my new set of friends.
I got home about 5 this evening, slathered on some cream for my sunburn, amazing how burned you get when it is overcast and you are soaked to the gills. Took a short nap and finished unpacking my kitchen; equally amazing what you get done when you don't have the cable hooked up to the TV yet!
whew, I'm going to take a long bath in a bit but I'm still wired from this morning's adventure.
