Isabel is sprawled across her bed, watching everyone go about their business. No, she is not frowning at the Tabasco bottle on her dresser.

"Hey," Aeryn greets her, not even sure what the bottle is.

"Hey yourself," Isabel said as she pushed up until she was sitting cross-legged on the bed. "Looks like we've survived the first twenty-four hours."

Aeryn doesn't mention that it's because she spent most of her day not here. "I haven't even threatened anyone yet, surprisingly," she says, and this is optimism for her.

"We may make it through the week after all," Isabel laughed. "Did you have any workshops today?"

She shakes her head, leaning against the wall. "Nothing until Thursday. You?"

"Mine start tomorrow. First Aid and Archery." She shrugged, "They're both fairly practical classes for this place."

"Wilderness Survival and Flight," she says. "Not sure how useful they'll be now, but it couldn't hurt."

"Wilderness survival is practical if you ever go camping. In theory you could put it to practice now if the cabin gets to be too insane," she said. "Flight? Well you never know. If my relatives invade maybe you'll be able to hijack their ships."

"I could probably try that anyway," she admits. "I don't know. I just miss it."

"How old were you when you learned to fly?" Isabel asked, curious.

"Started at thirteen cycles," she says. "Not too long, but long enough to know that I like it."

"Wow, that's young. Although I have heard of kids here learning to fly when they're even younger, but it's definitely unusual." Isabel looked down, uncertain about asking more. "What was it like?" she asked finally. "I'm just curious because somehow I don't think my flying cross country on a 737 even compares to the flying you did."

"It's very different than that," Aeryn explains. "I can fly in atmosphere, but usually it's in space, and usually it's in combat. Was, rather. It's different actually being the one in control, seeing what goes into getting you from one place to another, than it is just riding along."

"I can't imagine," Isabel said. And she really can't. "It must be beautiful in a way."

"I've never really thought of it that way," she says, but if she considers it... "In a way."
