EDITED
As the subject states, my weekend was fairly long. However, I also managed to accomplish a couple of major tasks, which makes this Monday feel pretty good.
The first task was getting my eyes examined. This always holds a bit of anxiety for me, as I have always had to have my pupils dialated in the past, and I hate eyedrops and being light sensitive for hours. Fortunately dialation was not necessary, and my prescription isn't that much worse AND I don't need bifocals! Take that last optometrist who saw me, and said that I did. (I didn't get the prescription filled as bifocal last time because they didn't have the lenses in stock, and I needed them NOW).
Secondly, I installed the reverse osmosis water filtration system that mom bought the weekend previous. Jerry helped by hanging the filter unit on the wall in the basement, and installing a shelf for the storage tank to sit on. Meanwhile, I plumbed all of the little 1/4" tubing, both to the kitchen sink where the filtered water tap is now installed, and also to the refridgerator so that we have ice cubes made of filtered water also! It makes the municipal water of Sidney not only drinkable, but pleasant. Something that cannot be said for it otherwise.
As it was all of 33 degrees this morning, I did not hop on my bike and ride to work. While the temperature certainly wouldn't have killed me, I don't see any reason to be miserable unnecessarily.
I ordered my glasses about 30 minutes ago and am waiting for confirmation. I'm really hoping that I might get them before the end of the week.
