You know those yellow ribbon car magnets that you see everywhere? Be careful where you buy those. For one, don't pick one up at Kmart. It seems that someone saw how popular they were and decided to go into the business themselves. The idea there is great. Rather you support the war or not, the troops deserve our support. However, it's sad that people would try and make a profit off of those troops.
Going back to Kmart, you'll probably see these magnets in or near the auto section. They have a yellow one that says 'support our troops', one that looks like a flag that reads 'God bless the USA', and a pink one for breat cancer. Across the top front of the package, it reads 'Show your colors'. On the back, it reads 'MADE IN TAIWAN'. Using cheaper labor to make these for a bigger profit is a downright shame. Being that there is no mention of what cause they are going to, I doubt the profit is going anywhere but some fat bastard'a pocket.
If you do get one of these magnets, make sure you know what cause it's going to. Supporting our job market and the troops at the same time is a great thing to do. I know the guys that thought up the idea have used some of the profits to send care packages to the troops. I think the best bet is to not buy them at a major retail store, because that money most likely won't be going to a proper cause.
I found a site that makes customized magnets. Of course, these people are making a profit and I don't know where they produce these at, but this will give you an idea of how much it costs to make a magnet.
