This has been possibly the longest week of my entire life. It's Saturday only, and I feel like this week has lasted 3 weeks. We had school off Monday, then John Glenn tuesday. I competed vault only. It was a nice break, and flashing scores is fun! lol. Then practice Wednesday.
Then Thursday was the most amazing night of gymnastics EVERRRRR! We beat Tri-Farmington!!!!! We just went in there and had fun, and we had such positive momentum on all of the events. Everyone did basically their best and we won by only 8 tenths! I remember last year we were 2nd to them at their invite by 8 tenths. Kinda weird coincidence! It was tied after the first freakin event! I've never heard of a tie before, and then we tied AGAINNNNN after the third event. And that was when we were ending on beam! Of all things! but omg, did we do awesome on beam! We threw out Amanda Patla's AMAZING 9.05 routine and counted 9.35, 9.35, 9.3 and 9.5! It was the most amazing feeling when everyone was screaming when we won... I'll never forget that. It's one of my most memorable hs gymnastics moments for sure. And now we can be confident that we have what it takes to be great! That's what's nice, is knowing that we have potential. 146.45 to 145.65. So close! And I did really well, too. 8.4 on bars, 8.9 on vault, 9.55 on floor, and 9.5 on beam: 36.35 all-around! I was so proud of everyone. We were all just having fun and doing what we were capable of. And we improved upon our best season score, which is really good, also. WAY TO GO LUGZ!
Then Friday was practice again. Then Saturday was the Farmington Invite. OMG! I was soooooooooo tired the whole time! I seriously almost fell asleep between each event! I have no idea what was up with me today. Normally I'm awake due to nerves at invites, but I'd like, get nervous for our warm up and then compete and go back to being tired. lol. We went in today knowing that Tri-Farmington was going to come out stronger than EVERRRR and not give up on anything. We knew that for sure, but we still did really well today. We competed as consistantly as on Thursday, except beam we had to count a fall, and we were a lil more shaky. We were last last last on beam of everyone. And we didn't have Andrea on bars or vault. Or anything for that matter! lol. It's so freakin funny, cuz last year Alyssa and I finished 1,2 in the all-around in division 2, and this year we did the same thing! We're seriously always right next to each other on practically every event! haha. I got 9.575 on floor (I had the second highest floor score of the meet, division 1 and 2! Only Kelly Patrick's 9.7 beat me! Pretty sweet!), 9.15 on vault (an improvement since Thursday), 8.85 on bars (guess it really helps to keep your feet off the ground in your drop kip and actually make it all the way to handstand hahahah), and 9.2 on beam (just a lil shaky), and I had 36.775 all-around. Alyssa won bars (9.2) and all around (36.85). It's so awesome being 1,2 like that. It's seriously a Farmington Invite tradition! lol. I was really proud of us today. We had a 145.725 score. Only a few tenths less than Thursday, which is really good.
We want to peak later in the year, obviously. And it'll be great when Alicia and Andrea come back to full strength. Andrea's working really hard, and her knee is getting and looking better ::knocks on wood:: And when we get Meghan back to full strength on beam... dang!!! Our potential is fabulous. Almost scary! lol. But a good scary. I'm really excited about this year and I'm happy that we're finally getting serious. Took a while...!
So... in addition to 3 flipping meets this week, new classes of the new semester started. I have Stats first hour... yikes that's hard to stay awake for. She has a melatone voice, and I was so tired all this week. I, for the first time ever, had senioritis. I had NOOOO desire to do homework whatsoever. But I did it anyways. lol. But I REALLYYYY didn't want to. Then 2nd hour is AP English. We're reading Invisible Man, which is just so sad. I can't believe what used to go on with segregation and how people were treated. How could one human treat another human so horribly!? It's disgusting, but the book does bring a new perspective and awareness about human relations. And on top of that, I saw Glory Road with Chris on Friday... all I can say is wow. That movie was amazing. Everyone should go see it. It's so much more than just basketball. It tied right in with Invisible Man, and it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long long time. Anyways... 3rd hour is Spanish 5, which is what it is... Spanish. We're reading La Celestine, which is kinda cool cuz it was before Romeo and Juliet. Actually, Shakespeare based R & J off of this book, COPIER! 4th hour is yoga... omg. I love it. It's so nice to just relax, think about your breathing, work out. It's amazing. I seriously look forward to it in 1st hour cuz I want it to come. lol. Plus I have Diane and Kristen, and Meaghan and Lisa in it so it's pretty sweet. Then C lunch with a bunch of ppl. It's pretty good. AP Bio is next. I dunno, it's AP Bio. But I don't like how all of the seats are full. It's a huge class. I like smaller classes. 6th hour is Calc with Mrs. Nowell. She's hilarious! She teaches sooooooooo much differently than Mrs. Clouse. Like, totally different. And we already had a quiz on Friday! ahhh! Hopefully I did good on that.
Wow. This is a long one. I haven't said much of anything in a while, so I thought I might as well update. Congrats LUGZ on great meets this week, specially Thursday! Next week we go against Canton on Wednesday and have the Troy Invite on Saturday. WHEW! I'm going to bed. I am EX-HAUST-ED! <3 you all! I <3 MY LUGZ!!!
