I'm doing a unit on jobs with my "Zenith" class, which is comprised mostly of 12 year old boys. Their English is generally decent, but they are...well...12 year old boys. Here are some of the great responses I got from a two part writing assignment yesterday.
Question 1: Choose a name and job from the list below. Pretend you are that person. Do you like or dislike your job? Why?
"I am Anne Jones. I am a secretary. I don't like my job because my boss hates me. I type slowly, work slowly. This company is very important in U.S. so I think, I will sometime get fired. I am so sad."
"I am Grover Muldoon. I am a police officer. I don't like my job because it is very tired if you hit a robber. Also, you can't sleep all night because you have to catch the robber. But, also I like my job. Because we kill a robber and fight with robber. I think the best interesting thing is we use a gun."
"I am Richard Poole. I am a teacher. I like my job because, I like children and play with them. Hitting children is very interesting. When I was a boy, I was beat by my teacher. Teaching is very fun. Students are very cute."

"I want to be a doctor because I like children and people. But, I don't like sick patients. But I like children patients because they are very cute! I love this job."
